A gem in Ataco - Edit
A small restaurant owned by a young lovely couple. They serve "calzones", although I would call them "empanadas". Calzones tend to be big and these are quite small, that's why they're affordable.
Read moreThey only have one vegan option called "la Tierra" (translates to "the Earth"). The dough is basic pizza dough, so it's vegan. The filling is a mix of broccoli, eggplant, mushrooms, garlic, celery, cilantro and spices. IT'S DELICIOUS!
It's not labelled vegan, but it's easy to spot. If you can't speak/read Spanish, they also speak English and the guy is german, so you know, he speaks German too. They're super nice. They might even create a new recipe for you if you ask and if they have availability . This is how they came up with la tierra, we asked them to create something vegan for us and the next time we visited, it was already on the menu!
They offer national and foreign beers, hot tea, natural juices and sodas. They have some amazing chiles, a spicy and a non spicy. They're so good, they even sell them on their own.
The place itself is incredible. They built all the furniture themselves and decorated the entire place. It's got so much charm, just like the owners.
