Dairy ice cream company founded 1978 with the opening of its small shop in Vermont, US. Since has expanded into an international franchising enterprise and operates manufacturing facilities making its line of products for sale at grocery stores everywhere. In 2017 its retails shops began offering a couple of vegan ice cream and sorbet options as well as almond milk for milkshakes. Vegan flavors may vary so ask. Ask for vegan cones. Also look in the fridge for pints to take home. Open Mon-Thu 11:00am-9:00pm, Fri-Sat 11:00am-10:00pm.

Craving ice cream after our meal. It's Ben and Jerry's, so can't go wrong! Would have liked to have a Sunday but no v hot fudge. Had chopped nuts and peanut sauce, though which hubby had.

A few options to enjoy an ice cream on my walk around town but waffle cone not vegan. I was disappointed on the limited vegan choices (3). Guess I'm spoiled by my local grocery store which has so many vegan B & J options. A few years ago, I would have been thrilled to find one option. So...yeah.

Read moreMan i wanted to love this Ben and Jerry's. Maybe because i had high expectations i was disappointed. I'm a huge fan of B&J vegan ice cream. I've tried every flavor.
They had only two flavors of vegan ice cream on offer here. They also had two flavors of sorbet. Regular groceries now have soooo many flavors of Ben and Jerry's non-dairy ice cream I thought for sure their flagship store would have tons of vegan options. Nope. Add to that the fact that their waffle cones, hot fudge and whip cream is NOT vegan. Lots of places have non-dairy whip these days i didn't think that was expecting too much.
And i'm sorry but B&J talks a big talk with all these pro-environment signs on the wall yet they're not making the connection between veganism and the environment. Seems like greenwashing. Definitely disappointing.
They had outdoor tables and benches to eat ur cone. That was nice. The location is walkable to everything it's right on the main strip. Walk to the lake or down the street for shopping, restaurants or the state park which is a must see.. it should be a wonder of the world.

Welcomes Vegans - Edit
This particular B&J’s is full of vegan items. They have a retail refrigerator case with an entire shelf dedicated to take-home pint size vegan flavors. They also do custom cakes and pre-made cakes, one of which was vegan. They always have, and rotate, 2 vegan ice creams and 2 vegan sorbets. At the check out counter, they offered vegan cookie dough snacks.
Read moreI visited another local ice cream shop that provided vegan flavors but the taste and quality can’t compete. I want to support local, but it’s hard when B&J’s works so hard for my patronage.
