Delicious vegan Mac and Cheese - Edit
A small, all vegan, menu that is done really well. The Tom Yum Mac and Cheese is the best. They are on grab for delivery and takeaways are in cardboard boxes.

Excellent!!! - Edit
Bangkok City Diner has definitely impressed me with their food. I tried the Tom Yum Mac ‘N’ Cheese and wow! It was like a food orgasm, haha.
Read moreThe other dish I tried was the French Toast. It was definitely one of the best I’ve tried, and I grew up on French Toast.
This was my first visit here and truly loved it. The food quality and taste was superb. The restaurant is very cozy, with warm atmosphere. It reminds me of the NYC diners I’ve visited. The staff is also very friendly, speak English and served me with a smile.
I will definitely return to try some of their other dishes and will highly recommended this restaurant to my friends.
I’m looking to return to taste the ramen, which is their signature dish.
Only thing is the confusing odd hours and days closed. I’ve wanted to visit this place many times, but when I checked, it was closed.
Pros: Excellent Food, Friendly English speaking staff, Warm cozy atmosphere
Cons: Opening hours and times

best restaurant in bangkok/the worLd - Edit
upon stepping into this cute restaurant located near the chong nonsi bts station, i felt understood, if that makes sense. the cozy, tastefully decorated, modern-retro environment created by the owners is one that is simply comfortable to be in. there are no boring uncomfortable wooden chairs, instead there are blue diner couches that make me feel nostalgic for a time i was never alive for. the dine in experience is kind of like sitting in a bubble - an intimate experience which can be enjoyed with friends or solo dolo (eating by yourself, which can be fun sometimes).
Read morethe food is where this place really shines, and please take into consideration that i just dedicated an entire paragraph to how much i love this place for the way its decorated. i have been to nicely decorated restaurants that had me super excited to eat, and have left many of those same restaurants disappointed by their lackluster foods. bangkok city diner does not fall into that category of restaurants whatsoever.
lets start off with the beautiful, savory, juicy, flavor packed, ridiculously delicious ramen. gorgeously plump (but not like udon level) noodles complimented by a delicious broth, some vegan meat substitute, edamame, sprouts, seaweed, and an optional vegan egg which tastes exactly like what i remembered egg to taste like (it even pops like an egg yolk does when you poke it!) and which fooled my non-vegan mom. it is seriously the best ramen i have ever had in my life (and ive eaten plenty of ramen (vegan and non-vegan) in japan). it is so so so delicious and will leave you feeling beautiful and content in your stomach. and at around 250 baht, you really get bang for your buck.
then we have another incredibly special menu item: tom yum mac and cheese. i know you are probably confused or doubtful, but please do yourself a favor: try this dish and let it speak for itself. they have a half sized portion for 100 baht which ive found to be a perfect side when sharing food at a table for 2. if you are feeling less adventurous, they also have a classic mac and cheese.
the last super strong item that ive tried so far are their cinnamon rolls. gooey and chewy in the best way possible, these cinnamon rolls are sooooo delicious. i believe they put pecans in them? the glaze/icing, the consistency of the dough, the flavors, its just perfect.
i wrote more for this review but i reached the happycow word limit. i guess that means i had a lot to say. please drop by. i hope you enjoy :)

Lovely venue with good food - Edit
We had the tom yum mac n cheese and the ramen. I really enjoyed both meals. The service was good. The venue is really cute. My only negative comment is that the portion sizes were a bit small and I wasn't offered the vegan egg in the ramen.

Amazing food and atmosphere - Edit
We travelled across town to come and try this spot and it was well worth the journey. The restaurant has an awesome 80s vibe with the diner booths, neon lights and fantastic music. Service was very friendly and welcoming. We had the ramen with the 'real' egg and it was incredible, so delicious and rich and the egg popped and mixed with the ramen like a real egg. The pink lemonade is so delicious, we had lots of it! For dessert, we tried the off menu key lime pie and the cinnamon roll. Both were the best of either we have tasted. They let us know that the menu will be expanding soon. Will definitely be back to try more!
