Bingo! - Edit
When we went, their menu was super limited because of a reason I forget which was unfortunate because it didn’t say that on the website when I had already picked out what I wanted off the full menu.
Read moreWe got cauliflower wings and the portion was one of the best I’ve seen. You get a lot in an order and the dip was great too, I haven’t had honey mustard since going vegan. We also got the chilli cheese dog which wasn’t that great and spicier than we were expecting. The bacon cheese burger we got was good though!
Our server was a little odd in the sense he seemed to really not want to be there and didn’t smile once in the hours we were there. He still provided everything we needed in a timely matter but did not have a very welcoming vibe.
The night we happened to go, which was Wednesday, just happened to be bingo night which was unexpected but we stayed all night and had a blast!! The guy Brendan who hosted it was a hoot and we ended up staying till close. Once the menu is back to normal I’m sure its even better and I’d definitely come back again and again!

Seriously comforty-comfort eats - Edit
Cauliflower wings: perfect. Kale caesar salad with seitan chick'n: Delicious; chick'n very flavourful and great texture. Mac'n'cheez hotdog: not exactly health food, but very yummy. But the chocolate brownie dessert: intoxicating. It is my new fave vegan dessert... just dark chocolate melt-in-your-mouth brownie paradise, nestled in warm chocolate sauce and topped with coconut nice cream, and a generous portion. IMO, it's worth coming here just for this if you like chocolate. **TIP: server told me that this same incredible dessert is also available from Imposter's Cafe across the street, a totally vegan bakery owned by the same people. Checking out that bakery/cafe is now on my to-do list.** Bingo: fun. Everything great and I am now a big fan. Service was a bit slow, but well worth waiting for: they are busy, and deservedly so... this one very nice server seemed run off her feet and I don't blame her. [PS: You could take an omni to this place and they might not even notice... ]

Vegan food without the “they live “ feel - Edit
Ok so I’ve been wanting to check this place out for a while but my anxiety wouldn’t let me , finally I drank up the courage to go in and have a meal . Upon first walking in it seemed just like any dingy dive bar on vancouvers scummy east side . So it was instantly comforting like nobody’s gonna judge you . Then I was greeted by someone with the most beautiful eyes and seated at the bar where they promptly gave me a menu and attentive to when I was ready to order they began my order . I started with the bad apple lager and nachos . 👌100% delicious . Then the bacon cheeseburger for my main and I’m a big boy you can believe that at 6’6 250 of muscle i can pack the food back and this meal had me stuffed for a few hours to say the least

Great spot - Edit
If you’re looking for a vegan dive bar in Vancouver, THIS is your spot! It’s grubby (in all the right ways), the food is greasy (and delicious), and the service is amazing. Can’t go wrong!

Cute all vegan comfort food joint with the best Caesar! - Edit
We love bad apple, it’s definitely not a healthy spot but has a few options the kale caeser is really good! Have tried a bunch of stuff and while we have favourites all of its been really good! The venue is divey with a charm so don’t go with high expectations on that! But the cheap drinks and good happy hour makes up for it, the waffle fries are great. The impossible burger was the only time I’ve enjoyed that burger patty as I trust them as a fully vegan venue. The Caesar was the best I’ve tried in Vancouver too and our server asked about our liquor preference. They make a few things in house too I think seitan, bacon and cheese so that’s impressive for a tiny joint! They also have a good covid patio that we sat out on a rainy day and stayed dry! The avocado blt has a honourable mention.

Great vegan comfort food - Edit
I knew this was going to be a vegan comfort (junk) food experience and we weren't disappointed! I thought everything we ordered had amazing taste, especially the kale caesar and the poutine, but we loved our sandwiches/burgers as well. The décor is a little 'funky' (we're seniors), but lots of fun and the staff is great. Highly recommend.

Very yummy - Edit
I was it impressed with this place before it went totally vegan so had very low expectations. I was very pleasently surprised! I got the impossible burger and fries delivered. The fries are perfect! Crispy and good flavour. Usually french fries delivered aren't good but these are great. The burger was grilled unlike any burger I've had in a long time, real charcoal flavour it was magnificent. It was sloppy as all hell, so, maybe don't order on a date.

Perfectly balanced flavours - Edit
Had the hot cauliflower wings with chipotle mayo dip and the 'shroom and chips.
Read moreThe wings were good, gently crispy, not as battered as I wanted, it leant on the side of healthy which was nice. The dipping sauce was great.
The 'shroom and chips was not what I expected, I thought that it was your typical battered mushroom burger (which I enjoy normally), but, it came as two battered oyster mushrooms on a bed of chips.
The batter was extremely oily so I left most of it behind, it was however, like an onion ring batter, so light, crispy and fluffy - pretty awesome, but the oil got me.
It also came with some purple cabbage which was refreshing and tangy, highly appreciated.
The chips, man the chips! Beautifully done, crispy, not salty, delicious, loved it! Btw, they are looong.
The tartar sauce tasted earthy and yummy.
The server gave us "ketchup" before food came out, it was like if passata and ketchup got together and had a baby. Tasty!
Overall, dips were great for me, bf didn't like them and also didn't like the wings much. The food was not salty which I loved, only fault was the oily batter. Awesome 👍
Place is quite small, the sign still says What's up hotdog.
P.s it says "honey" on the menu, turns out it's not really honey, it's their version made from earl grey and maple syrup....it was slightly loud in there so do ask again.
Bf gives it a 2.5 stars, I give it a 5, final score is 3.5 stars.
Had the hot and spicy burger and the southern spicy seitan sandwich. The burger buns are the best around in Vancouver, soft and doesn't fall apart, buttery almost. The hot and spicy patty was a flat disk bigger than the burger buns itself, and it had a slight crispness to it, can't really describe the taste other than good, not overly salty and actually had a bit of spice to it, hurrah!
The seitan sandwich came with the same burger buns of the hot and spicy burger which I was not expecting, the patty was in a triangular shape and is 4x thicker that the spicy burger. It's a lot juicier and again, can't describe the taste.
Chips this time round was saltier than before, which is a shame, but it's the level of salt that is just about tolerable, less salt next time and the chips would've been a 10/10.
They had Scary Movie 1 on, love that it was actually audible.
Korean BBQ sandwich was ok, loved the bread and the kimchi (more fresh than fermented), liked the ingredients but the flavours were mute other than the mild kimchi. Still don't like seitan.

It's good to have a vegan place that serves beer in this area - Edit
I had the "hot" flavour cauliflower wings, and chips. The wings were interesting but I wouldn't order them next time, I prefer Vings with a seitan or soy base. I didn't enjoy the dip, but the chips were great.

Great comfort food - Edit
We had the kimchi tempeh brisket and the spicy seitan sandwiches. Both were fantastic, delicious sauces, great bread(different types for each which was nice).
Read moreOn the menu it says you can take $3 off if you don't want fries, but it turns out on the receipt it was only $2 which isn't that great of a deal.
Also, they're a little small for the price so don't expect the same size meal as you get from MEET(for example).
