The food at this place really blew us away in freshness, variety and flavour.

We ordered from the vegan menu, and had the fresh steamed noodle rolls with mushroom, pad pak wan with duck and tofu green curry. The food is very responsibly priced, especially considering quality and deep thai flavours of the food.
Unfortunately the food is let down by the unfriendly, lazy service at the front of house. Everyone seems like they can’t be bothered, and you try and have friendly conversation or ask them questions and you get a very lazy, cold response…that is if you even get a response at all. A real shame because this would easily be a 5 star (if I could) rating from me.

There is a great choice of vegan dishes and you can select from several meat substitutes. Make sure to order rice with your dishes, all the "Pad ... Veg" dishes don't contain rice or noodles.
Read moreIf you walk there like we did, be prepared for a steep ascent! The restaurant is on to of a hill. Nothing too bad but something to consider. Might also be difficult for inexperienced drivers.

Best Thai food ever - Edit
We came here about 5 times because the food was just so good. The panang was incredible we basically just ordered that with rice and either tofu or the soy ‘chicken’ every time. You can also choose how spicy you want it, and medium high was great for us.

I was greeted at the entrance by a gentle giant, who I think they named the restaurant after? They had a whole seperate hand written menu for their vegan dishes, made my heart melt. It was so sweet. I had the Penang curry with just vegetables, loved it. One of the items on the hand written vegan menu had honey, personally I don’t eat honey but I know vegans that too, and honestly - A for the effort on the second menu ✨🌱🖤

Best option on the island - Edit
Undoubtedly the best vegan option of the island. After discovering it, we went every day during our stay on the island, and it was not short. We tried a variety of Thai dishes adapted to vegan cuisine including mock meats and everything was very tasty. Always accompanied by Babaloo and his furry friends.

So liebes Personal, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Haben uns direkt mit Mückenschutz ausgestattet und Räucherstäbchen angezündet. Der lemon-Juice war fantastisch und das Essen einmalig! Zur Vorspeise hatten wir die frühlingsrollen und die Nonames, die auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen sind. Zur Hauptspeise hatten wir Pad Cashewnut mit veganem Chicken und Pad Ginger Mushroom mit veganer Ente. Unbedingt zusätzlich Reis dazugestellten, um ein vollständiges, sattmachenfes Gerivht zu erhalten. Unfassbar lecker!

We had lovely vegan duck Masaman curry and vegan chicken Tom yum rice. Both were amazing. Lots of vegan options. No pictures unfortunately as we were so hungry and forgot to take them. Hope to go back before we leave beautiful koh Tao

The Babaloo is my favorite spot in Koh Tao. Everything is just right here. The Owners are very friendly and personable and the location of the restaurant is very comfortable. There is a very large, completely vegan menu with absolutely delicious meat substitutes. I tried almost the entire menu and everything tasted absolutely brilliant. Another highlight is “Baloo”, the operator's dog. A lovable completely peaceful dog that gives you a personal welcome. 😎

We‘ve been here twice, the mock duck is a dream. If you order Pad Thai without sugar u surprisingly get it without sugar 😄 best Pad Thai I had the last weeks. Please try the „Noname“ appetizer and thank me later 😉 We‘ll be back tonight, because of the food and the dog Baluo 🥰

Happy to have found this place that closes late on the area, even it is almost on the top of a huge rise.

We ordered pineapple fried rice and a sticky noodle soup and found that both dishes had a light taste so we had to add extra condiments.

It’s very authentic Thai food (even a local said that this is how his grandma used to cook) made in vegan.
The place itself is beautiful, surrounded by trees. They have tables where one can sit on ground level, which I loved! They also have normal tables, in case you prefer that.

The best place for vegan dinner in Koh Tao. The ambience in the place is beautiful with a friendly face always ready to welcome you. Lovely dog named Baloo there to greet you. The family are very kind and nice people there who make sure you’re happy, always smiling. I enjoy every moment being there and always feel relaxed. The building is a beautiful open air structure from Bamboo and very ornate. Relaxing house music usually playing. Vegan mock meat options are delicious, and food always taste healthy and fresh. You can tell it’s made with care and attention. Cannot recommend this place for Koh Tao enough.

We walked 30 minutes up and down hills and it was so worth it. They had a vegan menu with loads of choice and fake meats. It was the best fake duck I've ever had. Portion size was great and price was super reasonable. Would eat there every day if I could. Very cute vibe and they had a very cute dog.

We tried a few different dishes and they were all very nice! You can taste that it’s all freshly made! The mock duck and chicken were good but the mushrooms in the ginger mushroom stir fry tasted like meat the most. My favorite was the nam tok!

I had the bamboo stir fry with mock duck. They have different mock meats like chicken, duck, pork and fish to choose from with any dish in the vegan menu. My dish was delicious and filling! Highly recommended for any vegan or vegetarian.

5 Stars ***** I have been to a lot of (Vegan) resteraunts in many different countries but that's my favorite place. Although they also serve meat etc. I have had the best Vegan food ever there. My girlfriend and I went there almost every evening, the owners are friendly and they have a cute little puppy called Baloo. Hope to be back asap!
