Delicious banh mi and great foot bath!

I got the vegan banh mi here and it was super tasty. We also sat on the floor seats with the foot bath so we got the soak our feet whilst eating! The menus were mostly in Japanese so recommend getting translate up if you don't speak it but the vegan option is obviously as its got graphics and they understood what vegan meant. Lovely little LGBTQ spot!

Note it is a bit tucked away up some stairs/lift on the second floor.

Only one option, but delicious

It's difficult to find vegan options anywhere in Tokyo's gay district (nichome), and the vegan bahn mi from Ashiyu cafe & bar Donyoku is one of the very very few. The vegetables (predominantly mushrooms) are cooked perfectly, and the sauce is delicious. It doesn't taste much like a traditional bahn mi, but it's a great veggie sandwich. It was so good that the non-vegan I was eating with abandoned her chicken dish to split my bahn mi.
The vibe of the restaurant itself is great, its cozy but not cramped, and there's plenty of interesting seating from hammocks to tatami to western chairs. There is also the option to have a footbath while eating! It is a very welcoming LGBTQ+ safe space with resources, pamphlets, and local business flyers along the walls. There are also board games available to play, and we ended up playing with the three other tables of people.
While of course it would be great for it to expand it's vegan menu, there's simply no where else I've found in the area to eat dinner in Tokyo's Nichome as a vegan.

Pros: Delicious bahn mi, Amazing vibes, Safe space

Cons: Menu is in japanese, Only one vegan option, Hard to find/access
