We came across Arvore Do Mundo on Happy Cow. We are two vegan Canadians who have been travelling for a while and have found ourselves in areas that have limited vegan options. We were overjoyed with the incredible people and food at Arvore Do Mundo. The entire experience from the start was delightful! We arrived in the evening at opening time and were greeted with genuine smiling faces. The aromas of the food when we walked in took our breath away! Our server, Diogo, was absolutely incredible…warm, helpful, fun and a big reason we wanted to come back again!

We did in fact go back the next day for lunch to try everything we didn’t get to try the day before, and it was just as delightful an experience! This place felt like home-sweet- vegan-home…atmosphere, people, food…all of it is amazing!! Highly recommend 👍😁💕

A little hard to find from the street, looked closed at first unless you are looking for it. We put in a reservation and all the tables were full. So that’s recommended. Friendly staff and the deserts were outstanding too.

Comfy ambiance and super nice staff. Unfortunately we were sort of disappointed with the food. Could be a little better. The platings look really professional and pretty, but the taste does not meet the standards. Anyways I have to take off my hat because they are working with such a small kitchen and that is a real challenge.

Um dos meus restaurantes Vegan favoritos. Os menus são super simpáticos em termos de qualidade, porção servida e preço, os pratos têm uma apresentação artística, original e colorida, e os que provei foram sempre muito saborosos. Numa das ocasiões o pão servido na entrada não era muito fresco, mas tudo o resto compensou😄Os funcionários são também muito queridos e atenciosos. Será sempre um local a voltar!

Look we all want to the world to be full of great veggie & vegan restaurants & there is a great veg community who are generally supportive of each other. BUT, we do need a bit of objectivity when it comes to reviews, you can't give 5 stars to a place because they are nice & don't serve meat.
Read moreSo I walked into the restaurant and gave a cheery Hola to the chefs - the first people that you see. They all unfailingly looked at me without a smile & didn't say a word making me feel a bit stupid. Luckily I've got a thick skin & the waiter was the next person I saw whose personality made up for the dour kitchen staff - bubbly, cheery, smiley, friendly, warm - all those nice things.
It's a small place so the menu is small, I actually prefer that. I wish more restaurants just offered a few dishes and nailed every one making them so delicious you never want the menu to change, so I was hopeful when there were just two starters and two mains + two burger options. Whilst waiting we tucked into a bottle of organic rose which was drinkable and got better once food was involved.
Along came the starter to share, a smoked soya dip with some sourdough bread. There was literally two tablespoons of a nondescript, non smoky dip with some very average sourdough, & far too much bread for the meagre dip.
One of the party ordered the mushroom burger which was described as "not bad, Apuro's is better", my friend & I shared the two mains - a vegetable a bran (vegan take on a Portuguse classic) and a vegetable concoction wrapped in filo pastry. The brasao was pretty tasteless - a mash of potato & random veg covered in fries & the other dish as far as I could tell peppers, tomatoes, onions, something else and garlic which was at least tasty due to the sautéed veg and garlic, & its filo pastry nice, crisp & flaky, as it should be.
I have to say all of the food here looks amazing. One of the chefs has obviously been studying the high end restaurant Instagram accounts, the food really is a picture, it's just that the actual taste comes nowhere near the appearance.
Onto the deserts we got the mango coconut and banana carob mousse. The mango was the winner because mango kicks [censored] anyway & the banana carob just tasted of banana.
In the cash only(!) checkout we got charged for the filtered tap water(!!). So 1 starter, 3 mains, 2 beers, 2 waters, 2 desserts = €54 - average for Portugal but we all left underwhelmed in no rush to return. The food is not 5*s, the service & presentation are.
