Wow - Edit
I literally had to ask if the food was vegan when my plate came out. I ordered the chickn avocado wrap. So good! My brother came with me who is not vegan, he is now considering making the change because of the philly steak he had! We are visiting from Phoenix, we will come back every time we are in town!

Had lunch here today with my brother.

After getting several excellent suggestions, we followed her advise.
I had the chikin avocado wrap , fries, root beer, and carrot cake.
My brother had the Philly “steak” sandwich & fries.
The food exceeded all our expectations.

Went here because I had heard a lot of good things about their food, was not at all disappointed. The food was good and it didn’t break the bank.

Been wanting to try this place since my last couple trips to San Diego. Finally got my chance. The menu is great, such variety. Love the market, also. Too bad I could only try three things.

I’m obsessed with this place. Loved their pop-up and was thrilled when I found out they were opening a restaurant. I’ve gone several times since it’s opened and love it every time, and I typically always try something new. Also their desserts are DELICIOUS!

Amazing, huge portions! - Edit
We got the chicken avocado wrap, which was really good and mosty! We ordered one each, but could only finish half of it. So now we have one with us to share later on 👍😁 You get good value for money! The noise level in the back was really high unfortunately. We got to sit by the window in the opposite end of the restaurant, which was really nice 😊

Excellent Vegan fast food - Edit
Everything I’ve tried is cracking. Caution⚠️ The Reaper fries creep up in heat; after about two hours. Eat while fresh.

everything was great! - Edit
I brought my grandparents (scared of vegan food, never had anything vegan before) and my best friend to Anthem for a birthday celebration. We had the insanity spuds as an appetizer to share and everyone loved them! I had the soy-cal burrito (AMAZING), my best friend had the pulled porque sandwich, my grandma had the cucumber salad (because she was scared of “fake meat”), and my grandpa had the north porker. Everyone loved everything! We all tried all the different meals and even my grandparents loved it all! Amazing waitress and service 🤗

Great food and nice atmosphere. I took my 82 non Vegan Mother and her 80 year old non Vegan friend here and they loved it. My Mom had the French dip, Her friend had the peanut butter burger and I had the smokehouse burger. All came with delicious fries.

Sandwiches, tacos, burritos - oh my! - Edit
Anthem offers flavorful sandwiches, tacos and burritos with amazing mock meats and gluten free options. We love their burritos, the Karne Asada Sandwich and anything with the poyo (mock chicken). The owner is a stand-up guy and they care about their customers. Catch them on the weekends for special breakfast items. Ask for the secret burrito to have your socks knocked off. Pro-tip, all burritos taste really amazing after being in the fridge over night, so go ahead and order yourself an extra for tomorrow's breakfast.

I love stopping by Anthem Vegan whenever I get the chance. I usually get one of two items: the avocado chicken wrap or the soycal burrito. The food is delicious, but sometimes I wish the portions were bigger. The staff is really cool and the service is quick. I love bringing my friends to their locations because they are a great example of delicious cruelty-free food.

Pro tip: they move their tent to various locations throughout the week, so be sure you know where they are when you want some of the best vegan food there is in San Diego.

Love Anthem! - Edit
I take a walk down to the Hillcrest Farmer's market sometimes on a Sunday, just to get food from Anthem. Everything I've had was very delicious. The steak n bleu, the biscuits and gravy and the spicy chicken wrap are favorites. The staff is very friendly and I like that they make your food to order.

Found this place in a Hillcrest Farmers Market a few months ago. Owner was very nice and food had huge portions. Great for those vegetarians who don't want to eat like birds. Had a burrito with veggie steak, potatoes and a ton of veggies. Couldn't finish it all. Perfect food for Adventist vegetarians. Check it out!!

Hail to Anthem! - Edit
I recently hosted a San Diego Vegan meetup for nearly 30 enthusiastic vegans at Ritual Tavern (4095 30th), where Anthem Vegan provides inexpensive, delicious, and filling entrees every Monday from 6p-9p. Patrick Murray, Anthem's enterprising owner, also currently sets up at Hillcrest Farmers Market (Sun 9a-2p, University & Normal), the SPCA (Tue 11a-2p, 5500 Gaines), OB Farmers Market (Wed 4p-7p, 8p in summer, Newport & Cable), and North Park (Fri/Sat 11p-2:30a, 30th & Lincoln).
