Nice option for a vegan meal - Edit
Amfora (which has some kind of tradition in Ptuj) introduced a small vegan menu in 2017. As of now (july of 2019) they offer vegan 6 vegan dishes. Two pizzas: pizza Vegana (pelati, vegan cheese, pepper, tomato, corn, olive, oregano), pizza Julija (pelati, vegan cheese, champignons, zucchini, dried tomatoes, pepper, artichoke, oregano, olive) - of course you can order some additions to both. You can also order buckwheat porridge with mushrooms, vegetable risotto with curry, millet porridge with julien vegetables and rice pasta with champignons, pine nuts and chicory. The kitchen is also willing to prepare one something that is not listed as a dish (but for example a combination of sidedishes). All vegan dishes of the menu cost from 6,5€ to 7,3€.
Read moreThe location of the restaurant isn't exactly central to Ptuj (but Ptuj is a small city), the surroundings are a bit shopping district like, but the place itself is comfortable and there seems to be always enough place to park (if you arrive by car). The staff is friendly, but not all of them are familiar with what "vegan" or even "gluten-free" means, but you can communicate it in the end.
As for the food: Julija is one of the best vegan pizzas I've eaten so far (they are quite rarely spiced as good), rice pasta is something special and also buckwheat porridge with mushrooms (porcinos), which is a somewhat signature food of Prlekija and Prekmurje (two north-eastern regions of Slovenia), is very good, but you need to be a bit of a fan (I am one).
Amfora is a nice choice if you find yourself hungry in Ptuj, since there aren't almost any other vegan options in vicinity (you need to go to Maribor), and if there are ... they do not offer as much dishes. It's a nice refreshment, since I remember that just a five or six years ago Ptuj was not even very vegetarian-friendly (it's a city with biggest poultry farming facilities in Slovenia).
Pros: The food is very good, Prices are suitable
Cons: Staff can be a bit lost, Vegan options are limited to main dishes
