Great Indian in Fancy Setting

Ambrosia is one of the best spots for Indian that you are going to find in the area, hands down. Though they can be a bit pricy, the variety of vegan options that they have really can't be beat.

We ordered the vegan Tofu Tikka ($12), the Vegetable Vindaloo ($12), Roti ($3), and Samosas two pieces ($6). We also tacked on a side of brown rice ($3) in order to fill up on some more complex carbs. Our order took about 15 min to whip up and we were on our way.

The Vindaloo was my favorite: spicy as heck but not too much where you needed water to survive. I loved dipping the incredibly fluffy roti into the curries and enjoying them with the rice. With incredible flavors, my friend didn't even notice that there was no meat in our meal.

Pros: Good variety of Indian options

Cons: Pricier side

The food was amazing, several vegan options. The food had tons of flavor.

The food was amazing, flavorful without tons of salt. The cost was similar to other Indian restaurants in the Bay Area. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Pros: Plenty of vegan options.

Cons: Not close to where I live.

Vegan menu

My family loves this place! Everyone is happy here. Lots of wonderful flavors and choices. Vegan Samosas, Vegan tofu tikka, vegan chana masala, vegan vegetable vindaloo, Vegan aloo paratha are big favorites. Don’t miss out on the Hari Subzi and seasonal Sukhi Bhindi! There is so much more. Everything clearly labeled.

Pros: Don’t have to ask if can be made vegan, Vegetarians are happy; yogurt & cheese options , Meat eaters can’t complain

Cons: Variable chef performance

Excellent Vegan Indian Food

I’ve been here several times. It is pretty formal (fancy decor, very dark etc) but is friendly when you have kids. Fake butter chicken, excellent soups, great appetizers all clearly labeled as vegan. I bring people here from out of town to show off. Really can’t go wrong!

Pros: Best Indian food in Santa Cruz County, Numerous Clearly marked vegan options

Cons: Fairly expensive

I finally got to visit this new restaurant after hearing so many great things from other local vegans. I'm glad I finally made it!

The restaurant has an entire vegan menu in the middle of the regular menu and there are also vegan options listed in the vegetarian section. I went with two other vegans and it was great because we could share several dishes.

We started with complimentary pakoras because of a coupon I found in the Santa Cruz Sentinel. Then we ordered two kinds of parantha breads, vegan tofu tikka, vegan butter chicken and a spinach dish.

My friend really was into the tofu tikka and while I liked it, I preferred the butter "chicken" and spinach dish. There was a ton of food and we ended up taking leftovers home. The price for each of us seemed extremely reasonable.

The staff was very friendly and professional. The interior of the restaurant is very beautiful. I really liked the candle holders on each table that resemble a glowing orange.

I am so happy that we have a restaurant in the Santa Cruz area that offers so many vegan options. I look forward to a repeat trip soon.
