Very cozy, excellent food! - Edit
This location of ain.soph is so cozy and also very big which I did not expect after visiting the one in Shinjuku. The food was very good and the affogato has such creamy ice-cream for it being vegan. Also big portions. Very friendly staff.

Fresh seasonal fare - Edit
I enjoyed my meal at Ain Soph.Soar. I was seated quickly and my meal came very quickly as well. The tomato flavour in my hayashi rice was full of aroma and the zesty dressing on my fresh, leafy salad was a bright contrast. I definitely want to come back and try some of the other options on the menu.

Sweets and Burgers! - Edit
Completely vegan restaurant with vegan burgers and parfaits. The food was amazing! Probably the best vegan chicken sandwich I’ve had in any country. And of course the parfait. Yum! A trip to Japan is not complete without fancy parfait.

Great vegan food - Edit
This place is easy to find and not far from Ikebukuro station. They have the junk food I love from ripple with a few extra options (curry) and even more desserts.

A good selection of vegan food, but way too expensive - Edit
The burger and curry I had were scrumptious, but not quite filling enough. They are priced way too high in my opinion. It's always cool to visit a place with unique vegan food and desserts though.

Classy but Pricey Vegan Restaurant - Edit
Read the Vegan Tokyo Guide on https://itravelforveganfood.com/vegan-tokyo-guide/
Read moreAin Soph Soar in Ikebukuro is a vegan cafe with homey wooden decor. It has a similar menu to Ain Soph Journey in Shinjuku, but with some other items. For example, rainbow veggie tortilla roll and chocolate fondue dessert.
Overall the food is great quality and the service is amazing.
Try their famous vegan pancake if you like desserts. It’s soft and fluffy. Comes with vegan whipped cream and ice cream as well!
The price could be a bit high if you order a few items. A main, a dessert and a drink will set you back about 3000-4000 yen. But if you don’t mind spending a bit more, this cafe won’t disappoint with the quality food.
Pros: All vegan, Delicious and well made food, Great environment and staff
Cons: Pricey

Since we had no reservation we needed to wait a few minutes for a table, but that was not much of a deal.

Another great restaurant in the Ain Soph family - Edit
I think I prefer their sister store in Kyoto, but there might also be a difference between the dinner menu and the lunch menu. Here, I had the dinner menu. My partner and I shared the taco rice and the paella. The paella was on the bland side. I think the intention was that it be flavoured by the huge variety of vegetables on top, but I, alas, have simpler tastes. The taco rice, in the other hand, was fantastic, with vegan sour cream and wonderful fake meat.
Read moreWe also ordered non-meat karage as a side dish and enjoyed that. I found the orange and blackberry drink a little unflavoured, but the non-alcohol fruity wine my partner ordered was quite good.
The prices are good for what you get, but it is not a cheap place. I could not afford to eat here in a regular basis (their lunch menu may be cheaper).
Get the pancakes. WORTH IT.
