Delicious toastie but average and pricey açai bowl. Not a vegan establishment. - Edit
I really enjoyed my beetroot toastie. It was very tasty. The only letdown was that it took sooooo long to be ready and it wasn’t busy.
Read moreUpdate. They use cow’s milk and honey on request, but still believe they are vegan because they are add ons only.
Today they gave me the wrong açai bowl and it was just ok. Not great.

Love the açai bowls - Edit
Have been getting bowls from here for years, always made fresh and is really filling. Only downside is it’s become pretty expensive.

Service is slow - Edit
Food and coffee were good, but I asked for a simple breakfast vegan pesto sandwich and oat latte and there were no other customers it took 35 minutes to serve. I needed take away and had to jog to the conference.

Not sure about the 100% vegan claim. - Edit
Staff confirmed when I asked, that everything was 100% vegan. However honey was listed on the menu, as well as an ‘extra’ charge for plant milks, I’m not sure how you can charge extra if that’s all you offer?
Read moreBut there was two open bottles of *cows milk* on the bench.
We only ordered two hot chocolates on soy, neither of us enjoyed them and they got binned unfortunately, but I’m a lot more concerned about the vegan claim of the place, than the quality of it.

Hi Sam. I have also confirmed that they offer cows milk and honey on their website. I have submitted this to the happy cow team so they can change the listing. Thanks for informing of this!

Good açai bowls and coffee! - Edit
A 100% vegan cafe making it super easy to order as don’t have to swap things as everything is plant based by default. I got the AIN’T NOTHIN’ BUTTER açai bowl, and got 3 free fruit toppings (regular $18 I think?) and was a generous serving. The coffee is also really good as well! They have vegan toasties which look really good so a perfect breakfast and lunch option!

Much better since going to an 'all vegan' menu - Edit
Love that they are an all vegan cafe right in the civic centre building. Very handy, love the toasties especially Besto Pesto. Acai bowls quite expensive and have frozen pureed berry mix which isn't the best in winter but sure it would be nice in summer. Also they have delicious cookies and a decent range of vegan pies and a sausage roll.
Read moreOnly real con is the service which can be a bit slow to get your meal out, as it's usually one or two people in the kitchen and they are always serving a full house as well as online orders so it's understandable, be great if they could get a bigger kitchen for more people but the location is working for them. Be sure to not go there if on a short lunch break unless you have ordered online beforehand.
Pros: Extensive vegan options , Toasties are reasonably priced and filling, Yummy cookies and good coffee
Cons: Acai bowls and 'avo' on toast very expensive, Can be slow as small number of staff

Canberra finally has an acai bowl bar!! You get to choose which base, ranging from plain acai to all sorts of different fruit smoothie bowls, and then choose 3 fruits to top. There are specialty bowls as well that have additional toppings like peanut butter, raw treats, sauces, coconut yoghurt
