Amazing treatment and plenty of vegan options - Edit
The service at the place is exceptional. The waitress fully understood our dietary needs and pointed at those items I. The menu we could have. The food was just lovely - my husband doesn’t usually enjoy Indian food and said this was the best Indian he has ever had!

Everything we tried was delicious! The staff speaks english and they are very helpful at explaining which dishes are vegan (the menu does not indicate it). The atmosphere of the place is really nice, almost like you are in India.

Sweet, Accommodating Restaurant - Edit
We got into Kanazawa late and didn’t realize that restaurants have been closing an hour earlier due to COVID. Despite this, the staff at Aashirwad were very sweet and accommodating, and were able to quickly prepare a takeout bag for us so we didn’t go hungry. They confidently pointed out the vegan items on the menu and cooked them fast and well. We had a mushroom masala, kidney bean rajma, turmeric rice, and chapati. Everything was delicious!

The food was delicious. I had a spinach and potato curry which came with naan, rice, pickled onions, pickled chilli, a spice mix, salad and a sweetened yoghurt. It was super easy to order as an English speaker in japan. There is an English menu and the owners have good English. The owner introduced himself and gave me a coffee free of charge as it was cold outside. They have a sign out the front welcoming vegan and vegetarian guests.

My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic dinner. I ordered vegan food: vegetable curry, and my husband ate meat. There were several great options in the menu. The rest is a cool place with a young vibe, and the staff is really sweet and helpful. They’re used to preparing vegan dishes. We had a great evening!

Such a great place, they let us in despite being super busy- best bhajis I’ve had in ages and the curries were awesome- staff had good knowledge of vegan options . With two vegan dishes, a curry and a lentil soup with rice or chipotle option for lunch and a number of vegan dishes for dinner this venue will keep your hunger at bay. The flavours were well rounded and not too hot. We were offered authentic condiments for our table, to spice up our dishes if we wished. The downstairs smallish dining area is comfortable and cosy while there is a larger dining room upstairs for groups. The staff speak very good English and have a good grasp of what vegan means. Top spot.

The Indian woman spoke great English and was very knowledgeable about what a vegan was and pointed out all of the things they could make for us. All the food was fresh and tasty. It’s located on a lovely street with a canal. You an get many classics like Aloo Gobi (potatoes and cauliflower) as well as some different options like “Nepalese chowmein.”

Beautiful Indian and Nepalese restaurant in the ally behind our hotel. English speaking staff and menu are a plus. The flavors were rich and the food was light, including their own eggplant creation.

We hit the jackpot with this place as we didn't know what to expect having Indian in Japan. This place is situated along a beautiful stream and we sat on the balcony to watch the view on a beautiful warm day. This place was well decorated and stepping into the restaurant we were hit with the strong fragrances of curry. The staff were really friendly and knew exactly what the vegan options were. We had potato and okra curry and lentil dahl with rice. Unfortunately naan had milk in it. Both dishes were just absolute heaven.

A very cute little Indian restaurant with delightful vegetarian curries and salad. Everything could be made vegetarian, didn't ask about vegan options but I'm sure they would be possible. Great value for money and lovely staff members. We thoroughly enjoyed this place. Highly recommend.
