Vegan Portuguese Dishes

We had an excellent meal here and tried the bacalhau and a rice with sausage dish. Both were outstanding and the portions generous! For a starter, the croquettes were cute and tasty. Sadly, we were too full for dessert. Service was excellent. Reservations are recommended.

The worst service in the basement- don’t come with kids

We came to the area for this restaurant specifically, and what a disappointment it was - not in terms of food (it wasn’t bad, just a bit generic and lacked spices) but the atmosphere and service. We came with a small child and it was not accommodated by the staff in any way - there were 3 people who came after us and they got the food before us, we had to wait 20 minutes for the entrée, and then 40 more for the main course. When we dared to ask where is our meal the waiter started to ghost us and send another one instead of him. No one tried to address situation, offer a compliment or something - we felt like they just want to get rid of us as soon as possible. It was really horrible as if we made a favor to them coming to the place.

It was our worst experience in Lisbon - this silence and ghosting was really uncomfortable, and it’s the last thing you want to see in the vegan place.

I must say that the attitude of the waiters is very uneven - if you are a man who come alone, you get a lot of attention and warmth. Coming with a family, you are ignored. Even if the food was the best in my life, I would never come back. No food excuses this relationship to people.

It also was very cold and most of the rooms of the restaurant, located in the basement, have no windows.

Pros: cheese plate is good

Cons: Snobbish waiters, Long waiting time, Cold and uncozy

Gorgeous little spot

The food here was SO good! We both had the francesinha, and it was so flavourful. The "fried egg" on top was so realistic I had to compliment the chef on the way out! Highly recommend

excellent veganized traditional portuguese cuisine

i love the focus on the traditional menu, since it can be hard to find a good variety of vegan versions. the food is delicious and rich as is to be expected of the originals.

it's a great fine dining experience.

Traditional Portuguese food veganised!

Offers veganised versions of typical Portuguese dishes, most of which are with meat- and seafood-alternatives. I personally recommend the francesinha. Desserts are also very tasty.
The "egg" is scarily realistic!

Traditional portuguese food

Been there only once but immediately became one of my top 3. As a native portuguese, the food tastes exactly like our traditional portuguese food - the perfect comfort food ☺️ when I was younger, bitoque used to be my favourite dish, but it’s been 10 years since I last felt what it’s like the taste of it. Thanks to “A Minha Avó”, I was finally able to taste it again and confirm, once more, that it’s not the dead animals’ corpse that tastes good, it’s the seasoning and the way we cook our food : ) my friends also let me try a bit of their dishes and they were all perfect and such a time travel moment back to my childhood 🥹

Hearty meals in a cool setting

Dishes are rich, and full of flavor, if you like mushrooms the 'octopus' rice is nice and full of different fungi. The steak with egg is good, but we needed a salad or something to cut the carbs and rich sauce. Desserts looked great, but after the mains and an appetizer we were too full and needed a nap.

Pros: Big portions and flavor, Open late on a sunday, Cool space

yummy traditional food

as a long time non-animal eater and as a portuguese, I found this the best place to get some of the nostalgia of eating some of the dishes "done the right way" as I did when I was a child.
it was a bit overpriced but was completely the best filling meal I could have asked for. the desserts are delicious and the staff is really attentive. I wish they just had more space between the tables because sometimes it was a bit overstimulating

Traditional Portuguese food

Lovely to be able to try traditional Portuguese food in vegan form. The starters were the stars - we had croquetes, tempura beans and estaladicos (sausage wrapped in dough) - all we're superb. Mains were tasty and large portions and then the Portuguese creme brulee was incredible.

Pros: Being able to try traditional Portuguese food, The starters - very delicious, Creme brulee - amazing!

Comida portuguesa nota 10

Pros: A comida, O menu, O atendimento

Cons: Nada me desagradou

Nice food

I loved they have all traditional Portuguese food veganized. This is very important for tourists that want to try local food. The atmosphere of the place is good, all the waitresses are nice. I tried Bitoque and Francesinha. I do recommend them.

Sandwich is so good

I had the seitan and mushroom sandwich and I enjoyed it so much. It tastes meaty and burst of mushroom umami flavor. The cake was too sweet to my liking, the first few bites were good tho.

Bacalhau com natas

After trying to visit this restaurant last year, but being told that there weren't avaliable tables, I finally managed to have lunch here. I started with a soup, which was nice, but nothing spectacular. Then I had the "Bacalhau com natas", which was really fantastic and very close to the original from what I remember from my omnivore days. I finished with a dessert, "bolo de bolacha", another great choice. Would recommend, but please better make a reservation only.

Best vegan grandma’s food in Portugal (and beyond)

Perfect service. Really tasty and delicious food. Excellent vegan versions of Portuguese traditional cuisine. Best Francesinha in town. Bitoque is also highly recommended. Generous portions and good prices. Not to miss if you are in Lisbon!

The place for traditional portuguese vegan food

Though you wouldn‘t guess from the small entrance, the restaurant is actually spacy yet cozy in the back. They have a wide selection of classical portuguese food and the portions are very big. We shared a francesinha and two starters. Our favourite were the croquettes and sadly we were to full to try any of the awesome sounding desserts.
