7th Element Healthy Food & Macrobiotic Brunch

I highly recommend Jeanne and Patrick Grosset's Sunday brunch at Full O Life Market in Burbank, CA. They not only create and plan the recipes, but are hands-on in the kitchen, and along with their teenage children serve it as well. Their integrity, devotion, knowledge of and love for healthy food is genuine, uncompromising and absolute. I discovered macrobiotics in 2010 by attending Jeanne's cooking classes (also at the market on Wednesdays and Thursdays), and credit the recipes and her accompanying lectures for saving my health from a downward spiral and making it possible for me to still be a dancer at an older age. Jeanne loves to teach. She almost can't help herself, so if you have a health question or concern she will do her best to answer it between serving customers. Many of the recipes are unique, original creations by Patrick, a one-time classically trained French chef. Through the years I have interviewed Jeanne and Patrick, gone on their health cleanse, used their meal service and attended their macrobiotic conferences and events. I can unequivocally attest to their continued integrity in the face of an industry (food & nutrition) that has largely broken trust and compromised our health.

Pros: Exceptionally Knowledgeable, Ask Jeanne Anything!, Kind Helpful Friendly

Cons: NONO

Delicious Vegan Burger / Friendly Staff

I had a delicious vegan burger in this restaurant which fills the side of a grocery store. Their food doesn't have that corporate feel like many of the vegan chains that have sprung up all over southern California. The people working here are so friendly and helpful, and I love that everything on the menu can be made vegan.

Pros: Friendly staff, Wholesome/tasty vegan food

Sunday Brunch

I look forward to going to Full O' Life each Sunday to enjoy Jeanne & Patrick's wonderful cooking. Everything I have tried is delicious. My favorite is the Egg-O-Licious with the "shroom" option. I wish 7th Element was serving food here every day, not just on Sundays.

Pros: healthy, reasonable, fun

Cons: none

Delicious Vegan Brunch!

We love this place for a delicious and healthy brunch with our family. The kids love the crepes and the vegan reuben! The atmosphere is sweet and you can get your organic grocery shopping done in one stop. LOVE it!

Pros: great selection, delicious, affordable healthy food

vegan brunch options

We came with another couple when they first opened at 11am. Seating was no problem then, but it did begin to fill up pretty quickly. The menu had both sweet and savory options, but they no longer had the crepes which we originally came for. Dirk and I shared the French Toast and Tempeh Reuben with sides of coleslaw, potato hash, toast and lentil soup. The Reuben was quite good as was the coleslaw, but the rest was just average. Our friends ordered the apple cinnamon pancakes and tofu scramble. They enjoyed the pancakes, but not the scramble which was too bland. Overall, it was nice to have a place for brunch in Burbank, but we really wish it was all vegan.

Pros: brunch place in Burbank, friendly service

Cons: not all vegan

SUNDAY BRUNCH @ FULL O LIFE RESTAURANT!

The personal chef/nutritional education service known as The 7th Element caters brunch every Sunday at Full O Life restaurant (restaurant which uses their own crew Monday thru Friday using a completely different menu and is, in my opinion, not as good as The 7th Element, but in Burbank you learn not to be too picky). Unfortunately the service is iffy [edit by staff-see ToS], but the vegetarian/vegan breakfast/lunch is excellent, prepared with much love and the menu changes seasonally.

Pros: Choice between vegan/vegetarian on most items.

Cons: A little on the pricy side, but worth it.
