Great food and a lovely outdoor setting - Edit
Really enjoyed our visit to OhMA Gent. We loved the food, and the staff were really nice and friendly. The outdoor seating was another highlight. It was really pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the meal, especially with the nice atmosphere around us. The drinks were good too and went well with the food. There were quite a few things on the menu that we wanted to try, but unfortunately we were already too full to order the sausage dish. Definitely something to try next time! Overall, a lovely place with good food, friendly staff and a nice outdoor dining area. We would happily come back.

Vegan Belgian Waffle! - Edit
We opted for two of the loaded fries options, both of which were very tasty and huge! Despite our very full stomachs we had to try their vegan Belgian waffle, as we had been trying to find some for days! It was excellent, and also had the option to come with ice cream.

Tijdens de Gentse Feesten 2023 een paar keer bij Oh!Ma gegeten, toen nog als pop-up.

Ook de bitterballen waren heerlijk.
Lekkere alcoholvrije cocktails, zeer vriendelijke bediening.
Uitkijken naar het vervolg, het zou de bedoeling zijn om hier een vast restaurant te beginnen.
Zeer veelbelovend!
April 2024, Oh!Ma is definitief geopend.
Daar wilden we meteen naartoe, we aten er heel lekker, nog steeds de bekende Vlaamse klassiekers in een plantaardige versie.
Heel lekkere cocktails, borrelhapjes (de bitterballen en kaaskroketjes zijn heel lekker en zullen ook bij niet vegans in de smaak vallen), de hoofdgerechten zijn iets te hoog geprijsd.
Wij bestelden met de QR codes op de tafel, dit ging heel vlot maar we merkten dat bij andere mensen in het restaurant de bediening (wel heel vriendelijk!) wat stroef liep...dit zijn foutjes die in een wellicht stresserende openingsweek kunnen gebeuren.
De machine loopt nog niet helemaal geolied, maar ze draait wel op plantaardige olie!
We komen zeker terug, Oh!Ma is een mooie aanwinst voor Gent!
Update 29 juli 2024: Twee keer geweest tijdens de Gentse Feesten, zowel in het restaurant als in de pop-up aan St.Baafs, beide heel geslaagd.
Update zomer 2026: Oh!Ma brengt sauzen en de Fredkandel op de markt, een vegan frikandel die amper van de echte is te onderscheiden!

don't come here if you want to count calories 😉 -- but other than that a great place to try some vegan versions of comfort fast food. a bit more pricy, but still okay. if only they give you a different plate because my toppings kept falling off.. but maybe that's just me being clumsy 😅

You can get food of the same quality or better for a tenth of the price at any good frituur. They even served wedges rather than frites the last time. It's not bad, though the drinks selection could be better, and the desserts are good. I'm glad it exists, it's just massively overpriced. Yes I am tight, but I will happily pay 300€ for a meal if it's worth it.

WE LOVED THE GLUTEN-FREE CHEESE CROQUETTES AND MOULLEUX. They were pricy but very good quality. The rest of the food was okay, but very pricy for smaller portions. Also had to wait for an hour before our food came.

My absolute favourite - Edit
I have eaten here a few times. their "Oh!maatje" is one of my favourite dishes to get in Ghent. Everything is vegan so you have a lot of choice and as far as i know everything is fine at worst and delicious at best. A really good option. I even took my meat eating parents there and they liked it!

Wonderful vegan versions of Belgian food - Edit
I ate at Oh!Ma with a non-vegan Belgian friend, and both of us loved the food. The portions are huge and very filling. And very tasty! The house-made drinks were also large and refreshing on a warm day.

Loaded fries for the win - Edit
Kind of blindly went for one of the loaded fries options without really knowing what I was getting. Turned out to be like a curry sauce and sausages with crispy onions and mayo on top, wouldn’t have been my first choice but needless to say I absolutely devoured the thing. Service was super friendly if not a little slow.

Best Vegan place in Ghent - Edit
This was the best vegan place I’ve been in a very long time. The atmosphere and service were impeccable and the food was made exceptional out of this world. We had the cheese balls we had the chicken wings we had a fries with sauce and also the fries with Stoofvlees.

Gezellige zaak met vriendelijke bediening - Edit
Mijn vriendin en ik aten beiden het Oh!Ma'tje. Het viel een beetje tegen. Het is vooral veel frites, met maar een paar snacks. Dan is de €16,9 die je ervoor betaalt, toch wat aan de hoge kant. Ook betaal je €5,8 voor een klein glas Kombucha.
Read moreWij zaten boven in de zaak en daar was het wat frisjes. Een aardige jongen van de bediening zette de verwarming via de airco aan voor ons. De inrichting van de zaak hebben wij als fijn ervaren. Toilet was netjes en schoon.
Update:
Hou er rekening mee dat de prijzen op de website niet altijd overeenkomen met de prijzen die je scant met de QR-code in het restaurant. Het Oh!Ma'tje kost geen €16,9, maar €17,50 en de €16,9 vonden wij dus al aan de hoge kant.
