Spacious and Well-stocked Health Food Store
23 Nov 2010
You'll find everything from organic produce, grains, frozen foods, vitamins, snacks, environmentally-friendly cleaning products and natural body care products at Avril's. Staff are all friendly, helpful and professional and prices are competitive. Always love going in there when I'm in the Eastern Townships!

Best Cookies and Pizza
18 Nov 2010
Bread and Sons Bakery offers a selection of tasty health cookies, which is great for the office and retail workers in the immediate area. Cookies are often purchased for office get-togethers. Variety of flavours available, such as chocolate chip, peanut butter, and oat.
Vegetarian pizza slices are extremely popular with the clientele and the Bakery is the most popular "health lunch" option in the downtown core.

One of the best deals in town if you're looking for a healthy, heart meal. This is a self-serving buffet-style restaurant, and there aren't a lot of selections, but there are a few options. You can't beat the price. When I went, there were already customers waiting for the doors to open, so get there early, if possible.

Great Food & Staff

We ate at the Loving Hut in Madrid and very much enjoyed the food and the conversation with the friendly staff. I would definitely go back to this restaurant.

The Green Door
15 Nov 2010
The Green Door offers a variety of healthy choices, both cooked and raw. I especially enjoy their lasagna, as well as their mashed potato/kale mixture. Ingredients are listed, so you know whether selections are vegan or vegetarian. There is also a wide range of sweets, such as cookies, cakes, and pie. I highly recommend that you there with a hearty appetite!

I enjoy both The Table and The Green Door, and although the Green Door tends to have a wider selection, The Table has improved in this aspect. I prefer the seating at The Table - the tables aren't as close together so it doesn't feel as crowded.
Either of these restaurants are a sure thing if you're looking for quality vegan/vegetarian options. If you don't load up too much on the heavier foods, the price will be reasonable considering the quality of the food.
