John Lennon was a vegetarian singer and songwriter of The Beatles

John Lennon rose to fame with his band, The Beatles. The band originated from England and crossed over into the United States and than worldwide, creating a Beatle-mania.

The Beatles is said to be the biggest band that ever was. They have released dozens of albums and toured extensively. The are credited for bring India and Indian spirituality to the western world when they traveled to India to meet with spiritual gurus and musicians.

John Lennon was an outspoken man in his personal life. He lend his voice to the peace movement (anti-war, Vietnam and elsewhere) which resulted in trouble from the United States government that tried to expel him from the USA (unsuccessfully) for his speech.

Lennon has released his own albums. His very famous song is called "Imagine."

Lennon was shot by a crazy fan one night in New York City in 1980. The world mourned for the loss. He left behind his wife, Yoko Ono, and two children, Julian and Sean Lennon.

Can he really be classified as a vegetarian? I know he went through several dietary phases in his life, but I don't think he was ever a fully committed vegetarian.

I own several Beatles albums and a couple John Lennon ones. Though I do not listen to them all that much these days, I still like 'em. Lennon wrote IMAGINE, one of the most memorable (and played) songs of all time. Great lyrics. Oh - watch the documentary, The US vs. John Lennon. Very interesting stuff about how Lennon's activism and voice for peace enraged the United States government. Peace.
