A seam curves across the toe like an apron, giving the front of the shoe a defined, tailored shape, and the vamp rises a little higher over the foot so it holds like a loafer. At the back, a small grosgrain tab in navy and red adds a nautical flash of colour. A wedge of coiled and braided jute forms the sole and runs deep around the edge. It is stitched to the canvas upper in the traditional Spanish method, with a thin rubber outsole bonded underneath for grip on pavement. The taller rope wall lifts the shoe slightly and gives it more presence from the side. There is no shank, so the build stays soft and flexible and moves with your feet. The canvas upper is soft, closely woven, breathable and light, so you can wear these espadrilles with or without socks. In beige, upper and sole are almost the same tone, so the shoe reads as one continuous piece. Inside, a built-in cushioned footbed topped with soft vegan leather sits between your foot and the jute.
