**Washi Matou Waffle towel** German engineering meets Japanese craftsmanship! Two traditional brands, thies 1856® and Fukuroya Towel 1926®, join forces to bring you naturally dyed, eco-friendly towels and household goods made in Japan. Wabi-Sabi Zen at its finest. Because the climate in Japan is humid, the natural material "washi", with great breathability, has been used for shoji screens and has long been loved as a partition to organize living spaces. By using washi with such characteristics as thread and weaving a towel from it, we managed to obtain a towel that absorbs water faster than cotton and dries quickly. It is an essential product for a comfortable life! Washi thread is made by cutting the paper made by Japan's unique paper machine into 1-4 mm wide strands and twisting them into thread. Washi thread being made of bark, it absorbs water faster than cotton. This porous material has small holes on the surface, and because it contains a lot of air, it dries easily and feels smooth to the touch. The three-dimensional and thick waffle fabric absorbs water well, thanks to the unique combination of washi threads and a special weaving method. The textured "waffle weave" has a large surface area that touches the skin, making it even more water absorbent. Because it is thin and uneven, it creates air layers, and is easy to dry even after it gets really wet.  Not only when you wash it, but even when you use it while playing sports, you won't feel the discomfort of using a wet towel! Dimensions: 34 cm × 35 cm (size S) Material: 55 % cotton, 20 % washi, 25 % recycled cotton Origin: 100% made in Japan Water absorption test with 500ml of water : After it has been entirely absorbed : Water absorption test by pouring 500ml of water from above : Easy to squeeze dry
