A real treat

We’ve been here a couple of times now and it is an absolute treat.
It’s a small plates restaurant and so the food is brought to the table when it is ready and freshly cooked. The attention to flavour and texture in the vegan dishes I’ve had here has been excellent, even on a dahl. They have a separate limited vegan menu ( 3-4 options and a pudding) and staff are really careful to ask about dietary preferences and allergies. Service has been friendly and efficient.
Vegetarian options would be wider. Vegans might want to check seasonal options before booking if they have particular dislikes which could further limit choice.

Every dish was delicious.

Between us, we ordered the entire vegetarian/vegan menu, my partner being a vegetarian, and every single dish was delicious. The great thing is that each dish is served as soon as it is ready, so you get a variety of dishes coming up inapparently random order. To me, the mark of a bad restaurant is when the best thing was the chips; here the chips were the least exciting dish. The best? Probably the dal with spring onion and coriander. Or maybe the roast carrots with satay and soy. The soda bread was divine, too.

The beer probably changes as regularly as the menu, but tonight it was a local pale ale, Moho. And very good it was, too.

Pros: Inventive recipes, Knowledgeable service, Good craft beer
