Experience from 2018

This review is from when I went in 2018 (before I became vegan). The salad dressing and pasta sauce was probably made with dairy, but I don't recall now.

This is such a cute little restaurant that is basically reservations only. The head chef is a friendly older woman who seems to know how to cook anything. She used to cook Taiwanese dishes but switched to western-style cuisine somewhere along the way.

My mom had made a lunch reservation for us (NT$380 per person) in advance of the day we went. There's no menu, and the dishes were almost all Italian-influenced: vegetable soup (potato, kabocha, oregano, and black pepper), leafy salad (with tomatoes, high mountain zucchini, purple cabbage, red bell peppers, apples, tomato-based dressing, olive oil, and vinegar), steamed vegetable dumplings (Mom pre-ordered these with our reservation, and they're so delicately hand-wrapped), truffle oil pasta (perfectly al dente, with king oyster mushroom, multi-colored bell peppers, eggplant, and oregano, and samples of homemade Korean-style kimchi. Everything is all-natural, healthy, and organic. She has customers who have been eating at her restaurant for a decade.

Mom bought two packages of red beans (NT$180) and one package of brown rice (NT$450) from her since she sources every ingredient with care. Her partner also handed us three small oranges and advised us to dry the peels and cook it with the red beans.

You can also order steamed buns from her over the phone to pick up after 17:00. They come in savory and sweet flavors: salted mustard greens, cabbage, or black sesame paste.
