Serves meat, vegan options available. Takeaway onigiri (rice ball) shop, number 1 in Sun Station Terrace on the 2nd floor of shopping area at JR Okayama station. The salt (しお), plum pickes (梅干し), brown rice (玄米の梅干し and 玄米の昆布) and kombu (昆布) varieties are vegan. Open Mon-Sun 7:00am-9:00pm.

Good little onigiri shop

They have around 3 or 4 different vegan choices. They seaweed and the peach one are nice, it’s fresh and not too expensive. Around 280 for one.
It’s located in the sun terrace shopping „center“ close to the exit near the stairs, when you enter on the right.
Perfect, fast snack!

Super fresh onigiri

There is a second location in the food mall under the station. I got the plum pickle onigiri and it was incredibly fresh and delicious!

Healthier and tasty

Healthier than convenience stores and affordable compared to other bentô at the station. Shortly before midday some vegan options were already sold out.

Pros: More options than ume and kombu, Bigger and more filling than convenience store

Cons: Vegan options sell quickly

Really cheap and easy fast-food each onigiri would cost at about ¥120 ($1.00) you can grab one or two before riding on a Shinkansen (bullet train)
