Should have been much better - Edit
My sister came up to London from Chichester and I wanted to take her to a good vegan restaurant. Someone I knew from London had recommended this restaurant so we walked over from Victoria train station.
Read moreIt is a nice-looking restaurant.
I try and avoid gluten and they offered the Shepherd's Pie (it has a small amount of wheat in the sauce). I decided to go for that.
It was a fairly sad offering - taste-wise. They could have used quite a bit more herbs and something to add some umami flavour. It fell short.
My sister's mushroom pasta was enjoyed by her but it was not exceptional.
The servers were a little stiff. The host person at the door was very pleasant and inviting.
I do not normally order tea when I am out and about because it tends to be less than satisfying. They brought a Jing tea sachet. When I opened it, there was what I can only believe was a plastic pyramid tea bag. We really need to be moving away from these types of tea bags and packaging.
I would have expected a restaurant of this caliber to be offering cloth napkins instead of disposable ones.
2 people, two mains, two teas, one dessert - 50 pounds that included the gratuity that they automatically added to the bill.
Cons: Could use some more flavour in the dish

Incredible - Edit
Visited Wulf & Lamb for the first time today - safe to say I was not disappointed. The interior of the restaurant was incredible, it really made the visit feel like a treat. I had bread and oil to start and mushroom pasta for a main, it was delicious! This place seems to get all of the details of every dish perfect. The wine was also really lovely, we opted for the pinot. If you’re looking for a tasty meal out as a treat, highly recommend. This would also be a perfect place to take someone who isn’t vegan as it has such an array of options.

Best vegan food ever - Edit
I went to Wulf and Lamb for a nice lunch with my friend while visiting London!
Read moreAbout the food, only one word, Impressive! I got the veganuary deal that came with a starter, a drink and a main for only 20£. Only downsize is that portions of the starter were a way too big, one started shared by teo people would be enough.
I ordered the wulf soup, which was really good, but what made my whole trip to London even better was the wulf pie, and especially the lentils and jackfruit filling, unforgettable!
I also got the sticky pudding and if you have a sweet tooth, order it, because you will fall in love with it, I know I did.
The location in lovely, staff is kind and I loved the natural light that came from the ceiling. #Veganuary
Pros: Options are original, Food was a 5/5, Reasonable price
Cons: The starter sizes are way too big

Lovely valentines meal - Edit
My partner and I visited Wulf & Lamb for valentines earlier in the year and the food was fantastic. We had the chilli non carne for main which especially stood out to us! Service was a little slow but, given that it was valentines, it was a very busy night! The drinks service however was very quick.
Read moreMenu included a fair share of veganised ‘classics’ so I feel I could easily take an omni friend there and they wouldn’t be put off.
Very loud when it’s busy which was the only thing I struggled with, as I’m half deaf - but ask for a quieter table when you book!
Pros: High quality vegan food , Veganised ‘classics’
Cons: Maybe a tad overpriced

Overpriced - Edit
The creamy mushroom pasta, for around £15, should have been better, but was very average and quite a small portion. Either the prices need to come down or the quality needs to go way up. Also not a particularly substantial menu.

I wasn't impressed - Edit
For £20 one would expect a delicious burger. Unfortunately this one wasn't worth the price. The bun wasn't fresh, neither the salad. Everything was very dry and lacked flavour, even chips. Slice of cheese was extra thin. They made some adjustments with my burger due to my allergy but it just didn't taste good. Waitresses were kind.

Lost its spark - Edit
Wulf & lamb was much better 5 years ago. The quality of the food was very high and any non-vegans I'd bring here loved it. But I went there recently and the food was mediocre. The French fries were not crispy so didn't feel worth the calories. The Portobello mushroom starter was bland. Bruschetta was nice though. The Mac and cheese - an old favourite - felt like it needed something. Also, I really miss the chilli sauce they used to do, it was so flavourful.
Read moreThe servers are friendly and they changed their random ordering system so you can order at your table.
Having one bathroom for customers (and wanderers sneaking in off the street) is insufficient. The last few times I've been there's been a queue of three people to use the toilet. It's also often dirty.

Creative Vegan Menu - Edit
Arrived early for our dinner booking to discover it was still happy hour! Our party of two ordered margaritas and old fashioneds. The margaritas were a bit tart and served in martini glasses, but the old fashioneds were tasty!
Read moreFor food, we ordered the Chilli Bao (hot filling) and Smoked Tofu Bao (cold filling), and the Wulf Pie and Chilli 'Non' Carne. All were good and there seemed to be a common protein base of lentils and red beans for all of the food with different flavor sauces. The Wulf pie also had pieces of jackfruit. I absolutely loved the soft and pillowy consistency of the bao bread. For dessert we had the Sticky Toffee Pudding. I'm not a fan of sticky toffee, but I had no problems eating half of this dessert.
I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu. Service was a bit slow with only one waitress and one bartender in the upstairs dining room. Not sure if this was because it was early or if they are understaffed. It didn't make a big impact on our dining time, but it was noticeable.
Pros: All vegan menu!, Creative dishes!

Amazing vegan gem! - Edit
Really good restaurant with an international and eclectic menu.
Read moreFor starter, we got smoked tofu baos. The baos were ok, not as fluffy as I've had in the past. The filling was tasty, but I struggled to find the smokiness of the tofu (or the tofu at all).
For mains, we had the mushroom pasta and the pie. The pasta was very good and well executed, but the pie takes it away for me. It's the first time I've had jackfruit that actually resembles the texture of the meat fibers, which gives a the texture/bite that complements the flavour. The sauce was perhaps a bit too thick. And unexpectedly, there was no pie crust.
Finally, we had the tiramisu and red velvet cake for dessert. The tiramisu was disappointing. And it served in a plastic container, which suggests it's industrially made. The red velvet cake, however, was delicious.
The space itself is nice and located on a very pleasant street.
Pros: Tasty food, Varied menu, Nice location

Good but no wahou factor - Edit
I was having a lot of hopes in this restaurant, especially because it looks delicious, well noted and also because of the prices.
Read moreBut first, I really liked the area. Chelsea is a little bit outside the city center but it is a really lovely, warmly, and dynamic neighborhood.
I was looking forward to trying different dishes from their menu, so I ended up by choosing the Chilli Bao (starter) and the Glazed miso aubergine (main).
The chilli bao was not exactly what I was expecting, but maybe I didn’t correctly read what this bao was made from, so my bad, but the taste itself was good, but I was craving something else.
The glazed aubergine however, was looking nice, but the miso paste was waaaaaaaaay too salty. So unfortunately, I had to remove it from the aubergine, which decreased the culinary experience in my mouth.
So, in order to finish on a positive point, I took for dessert the tiramisu, which was stunning!
Also, because I made my reservation online, I was given a free glass of Prosecco, which I was able to turn into a nice cocktail.
So, even if the overall experience was less than expected, I would still give it another try next time!

Delicious! - Edit
This was my second time at Wulf & Lamb, and it never disappoints. It was nice to sit outside on the patio on a beautiful evening. We tried the spicy gyoza, mushroom pasta, veggie burger, tiramisu, and brownie with ice cream. Everything was delicious! I was delighted by an offer on opentable to get free Prosecco with our meals, so look for that when booking your table! Not sure if it’s a normal offer, or just for slower days (we went on Monday).
