Good, but not great.

Customer service definitely deserves 5 stars. However, for the price I wasn’t a huge fan of the food, I was expecting a bit more. I was hugely disappointed by the seitan bacon (too thick and wasn’t as fully-cooked/crispy like other “bacon” I’ve had before).
I really wanted to love the food, but I’d rather explore other options before going back!

Pros: Friendly staff, Large portions (very filling)

Cons: Pricey, Not a whole lot of options for non-breakfast

A Jewel of a Find!

The Wild Leek is a small restaurant but big on taste! We almost didn’t stop in knowing they only seat 18. I will tell you this is a very popular place...at 2:30 in the afternoon we still had to wait for a table but it was totally worth it! We each ordered the specials and they were amazing...we even ordered 2 of the soup specials with grilled cornbread to take back to our hotel for dinner! You won’t be sorry you waited for a table at this jewel of a vegan restaurant!

Delicious, vegan food!

Open seven days a week, shorter days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Brunch menu - available all day - includes tofu scramble, pancakes, benny and “nomlette.” Juices, smoothies, hot and cold drinks, craft beer (bottles and one on draft, plus one cider on draft), wine and cocktails. Burgers, wraps, bowls, salads, cheezcake, gluten-free brownies. First visit, I had the delicious chick’n pesto pita pizza, $14 - loved the crispy chick’n cubes, pesto flavour and other toppings. Next time, I had the excellent Daily Benny - a good “eggy patty” and cheesy sauce, and the sliced potatoes were nicely seasoned. Third time, I had the very tasty Thai Bowl (enjoyed the leftovers cold next day). Friendly staff, good service. There is still plenty on the menu that I want to try - next time I'm in Halifax!

Pros: all vegan, tasty food

A MUST GO!

If you are in Halifax, vegan and want some food with flavour, you must make the time to stop in. I almost didn’t because I was told it’s a tiny spot and not fancy. Well, don’t let that stop you, take your food to go if you have to... it is soo worth it. I had the mushroom soup and Caesar salad, then had to get the asparagus and mushroom penne pasta. I ate the last of it in the airport cold and it was still delicious

Pros: All vegan with lots of options, Lots of flavour, Friendly staff

Cons: Be prepared to wait for seating, or take to go

Best plant based restaurant in the HRM!

I once lived in Halifax, and try to visit every summer. As of last summer, my partner and I decided to make Wild Leek our official first stop from now on.

The food is local, original, and full of amazing flavors. I made it my mission last summer to try everything on the menu at least once, and I'm excited to give this year's menu a go. (Hopefully I'll see some fan favorites if I'm lucky *wink*)

If you're not totally stuffed from your delicious meal, treat yourself to one of their desserts. I'm low key obsessed with the cupcakes.

To top it all off the staff is awesome! They have a friendly/casual/professional/passionate vibe that you just can't fake. I enjoy the beautiful humans that work here just as much as the food.

Did I mention the prices are great and totally accessible?

10/10 would recommend this place to any plant based foodie looking for delicious food that is made with love.

Wild Leek is not just my favorite vegan restaurant in the HRM, they are my favorite vegan restaurant period.

Pros: This place is nothing but pros! , Amazing local DELICIOUS food, friendly staff. , The pricing is super reasonable.

Cons: The only con is that they could use more seating., Old chairs are cute, they're scary if you're thicc, They dont also have a location in BC lol.

Yummy vegan comfort food

We went for breakfast and were back for dinner. Brek was great all round. I had the special, a bowl combining roast potatoes, mushrooms, spinach, kale and vegan bacon and served with the restaurant’s signature dragon sauce, and my partner had “eggs” on English muffins, served with seasonable veggies. The food was satifying and tasty, my one gripe being that my greens were gritty. For dinner we tried the vegan version of the donair wrap and the special - blackened tofu served with brown rice, beans and a salsa of mango, red pepper and onion. The special was good but the donair was spectacular, the house-made tempe light and flavoursome and the sauce binding it and the veggies a perfect mélange of smokey, creamy tastiness. Next time I’m having only that!

Just go. You won't be disappointed.

Small, quaint, and delicious. Their Nomlettes are like no other vegan food served around Halifax, large portion, lots of fried veggies and served with a big side helping of awesome potato wedges. Their Breakfast Bowl and Wild Bowls are also amazing. I also recommend their seitan bacon, and if you like Calamari try their vegan version—it's scary close to real calamari and can't recommend it enough. Great location in central Halifax, close to other restos and bars.

My go-to Vegan place

I like this restaurant a lot. It's one of those restaurants that I look around and everyone's food looks good. I want to try everything and I'm usually a stick in the mud who always gets the same thing. Not here!

My only quibble would be the servers are just okay. It might be more that they are friends then employees which is great but some of their customer service skills could be improved. But every server can get better with practice and experience :)

Love the new renovation!

Great food and great people!

My husband and I went here for the very first time. My husband ordered a veggie burger and I ordered the curry and rice. My husband and I didn't rally care much for the burger. It was a bit too mushy but the curry was lovely. Their soda is very good. We also ordered an apple pie flavoured cupcake which was to die for! Wait staff was really great and very friendly. Will definitely be returning!

Pros: Everything is vegan. Lot's of gluten free option

Cons: Can't think of any cons. Everything was pretty swe

everything was to live for!

I ordered the seitan Donair and my partner ordered the buffalo sandwich. Both were too good to put down. It's always nice to see a 100% vegan menu- even better when the food is as good as this.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to

Went here for lunch today. Everything was great.

I had the potato and leek soup with cornbread ---- mmmmmm, flavours were amazing. I also had the sweet potato and pesto quesadilla, such a fresh idea which I hope to replicate at home. My dining companion had the nom-let which he gets a lot and loved it again. For dessert we shared a lime coconut cupcake, I was nervous about the flavour combo, but it surprised me, I enjoyed the lightness of the lime!

Thank you so much for provided such a wonderful vegan spot! Will come back again.

Pros: Fantastic food, great price

Cons: just a little too much cinnamon on the quesadilla

yum!

I've stopped by wild leek for a lunch and had spicy chickpea burger with salad on the side with most delicious dressing! I suspect avocado, vinaigrette, and some dill from the dressing. I usually didn't like to have too much dressing on my salads but with this dressing I was scrapping the bottom of the container for the last drop.
And the burger was delightful too! the texture, seasoning, was excellent and most importantly not feeling the food coma after a burger but feeling energized is why we like vegan food, don't we all?
:)

Pros: compostable take out container, excellent food, local ingredients

Cons: little bit on the pricier side
