Lot of yuppie stuff, but solid vegan options here including the salad and hot bar as well as prepared food such as pizza.

Location moved to Trolley Square

This whole foods has moved locations to Trolley Square (500 e and 600 s). It is giant now. And much more vegan friendly as well. It has the best vegan baked goods selection of any whole foods in the valley that I've been to. They carry mighty o donuts (from seattle) and city cakes cupcakes (local), in addition to cookies and other baked goods they make in the store.

The hot foods bar has a number of vegan options, although I don't think they are particularly tasty and they never seem to change it up. Vegan taquitos w/ daiya are usually dried out. Lots of indian food that is sub-par. They do have a number of vegan soups that are good though. I think the split pea is the best, although probably could use a shake of salt in it.

Every now and then the label doesn't match the food under it, in the hot food bar, and since the labels are also marked vegan, vegetarian, etc. just make sure that the label is accurate for what the tray of food looks like.

There is a sandwich making station that has a vegan reuben that is good. The oriental food station is dragon grill style and okay priced and okay tasting. Nothing amazing.

Pros: lots of options, covered parking, vegan options

Cons: over priced, food sits out all day

I have been shopping at Wild Oats, now Whole Foods, since moving to Utah over six years ago. Before the buy-out, WO was very vegan-friendly. Now, at least at the WF store on 400 South in SLC, there is a definite shift away from vegan/vegetarian prepared food to that for omnivores. This is a huge disappointment for me as I don't have a car by choice and will now have to use public transportation to buy the food I prefer instead of being able to walk a few blocks. I am curious to know other vegan's impressions regarding the change from WO to WF.

Pros: Close By, Good fresh food choices, Nice place to eat upstairs

Cons: Not so vegan friendly, More omnivore prepared food choices, Too cold in summer
