The Olive Garden of Thai food - Edit
This place is to Thai food what Olive Garden is to Italian food, and that’s being generous.
Read moreWe ordered the pad Thai and the massaman curry, neither of which included protein. The pad thai as is is literally just noodles. We paid $6 to add tofu, and if you want to add vegetables, it is a $1.50 charge *per vegetable*, like you’re ordering a pizza. Both entrees ended up being $21. Pricy for Thai, but I don’t mind as long as it’s good. Also, the thai iced tea was—jumpscare— $8 and nothing out of the ordinary.
The food came and did not look impressive. Everything was pale and not garnished, but I wanted to give it a fair chance. Both the curry and the pad thai were extremely bland, which isn’t something I’ve ever said about Thai before. The tofu was barely cooked and flavorless. At the very least, it could have been pan fried to give it a bit of texture. It tasted like it was straight from the package. The lack of flavor and seasoning meant that the potatoes and tofu in the curry, which are amazing flavor sponges, were just plain and sad. I had to request salt just to make it edible. Also, someone please tell me what parsley is doing in pad Thai? Yes, you read that right: not cilantro, Italian parsley. We stopped here on a very long road trip and were famished, so we did eat the food, but a Subway sandwich would have been preferable and more flavorful.
This entire meal tasted like whoever cooked it went home afterward and made a macaroni and mayonnaise salad for potluck. If it had been cheap, maybe I’d be more forgiving, but the price/quality balance is so poor that it’s offensive.
Anyway, two stars because the food was technically edible and the service was great.
I’m having a hard time reconciling the hundreds of positive reviews with our experience, and I hope for the restaurant’s sake that this was just a very off day for them.

Vegan Thai - Edit
Upscale feel and prices, but the portions are huge so you could definitely share a meal here with someone or at least expect left overs.
Read moreI like how clearly the vegan items are marked on the menu and tofu can be added to any dish.
Perry was an excellent server!
I got the pineapple fried rice with tofu. I asked for medium spicy which was perfect. Just the right amount of kick but you can still enjoy all the flavors.
I visited this restaurant with my dad and sister because I had heard good things from my friends and coworkers. It's definitely a nice place to go on the outside of Southern Allentown.
I also enjoyed hot oolong tea and mango sticky rice for dessert.
Pros: Food portions are huge, Clean and sophisticated aesthetic, Great flavors
Cons: A little pricey

Vg notes on the menu! - Edit
I love a menu with labels. Theirs has an indicator vg if it can be made vegan. I ordered from Grub Hub, which doesn’t have the indicators, so you just have to cross reference. The Tom kha soup was very fresh and the bowl was a good portion for dinner. Also enjoyed the mango sticky rice.

A nice option for the area - Edit
We come back to the area to visit family a couple times a year, so it was nice to find another option in the Center Valley area. We have the veggie & tofu app and split the Red Curry with tofu.

Several vegan options - Edit
The menu is nice in that it has clearly labeled dishes that can be prepared vegan. I had the Massaman curry with tofu. The tofu was quite bland. Seemed to have been cut straight off the block and tossed in at the last second without any preparation. I did have the option to add additional vegetables to the dish although a bit pricey at one dollar for each choice. Overall nice atmosphere. Nice for groups that have individuals with differing dietary preferences.

Good Lunch Options - Edit
I ordered from the lunch special menu, where you get an appetizer and a main dish for $17. The vegan options are clearly marked, and it was more than enough food for lunch. The tom kha soup and drunken noodles were both delicious. I'm probably about to roll out of my office chair because I am now a bowling ball full of tofu.

Great Vegan Options Available - Edit
A very nice dining experience with the bonus of several vegan options clearly marked on the menu. My favorites are the papaya salad and the coconut soup. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in making vegan selections. If you love good Thai food, you'll love White Orchids. My husband and I had our first date there and we go back as often as we can.

Meh. - Edit
The food was alright, but there wasn't a huge selection. Most of the dishes were noodle based and there weren't any stir-fry dishes that were vegan. The prices were too high in my opinion. Glad they have the vegan options but I'd take my money elsewhere.

terrible and no taste! - Edit
I went here twice in the past few months and both times were awful. The tofu was gross and the main dishes were tasteless. I have never had to add so much salt and different sauces to something to make it taste some what okay. It's also extremely expensive for the tiny amount of food they give you.

น่าอัศจรรย์ (Amazing) - Edit
Awesome food for vegans! Before I went vegan I randomly tried their vegan Pad thai one day and it was horrendous! After getting my taste buds used to vegan food, I decided to try it again and it was amazing! If you love Thai, I recommend.

Excellent Vegan Thai Food - Edit
Fresh Thai food splendidly presented and prepared. Although not technically a vegan restaurant, they have a vegan menu with a good assortment of items. Ordering an entree very spicy should be done so advisedly. Nice casual atmosphere but make reservations for the busier nights.

Splendid - Edit
I took a chance on swinging past here on my way to the airport. It was SO worth it! They have a separate vegan (as well as a separate g-free) menu. Plenty of choices and are located in a very nice plaza/promenade. Clean venue and friendly staff. I had the pad-see-ew as an entree and chose the mixed veggie tempura (can't remember what they called it) appetizer. Sorry no pictures of the tasty victuals - but I ate as I sped my way to the airport.

White Orchids = Yummy - Edit
I love Thai food, and this restaurant offers delicious Thai options. I was very happy to find that when you order a meal "mild", it actually is mild, but not at all lacking in flavor. Also, this is good quality food, not like greasy take out. This place is nice for a date night out, a movie theatre is located in the same shopping complex. They use a lot of locally grown food. I definitely recommend checking this place out.
