Village Grocer

They have quite a variety of goods but they are there for a short period of time or till the stocks run out and never replenished for at least a few months or ever.

I'm a regular shopper there only because of the convenience versus the filthier grocery shops nearby.

Am at my wits end when I find something I love there only to see it never restocked after it's all gone.

The excuse given is "The stocks are from overseas so it takes a long time to get here". Fine, I'll accept that, but what about local products? Restocking the same products cannot be counted on at this store.

Extremely disappointing.

After reading the description and previous reviews I ended up being severely disappointed. No actual vegan cheese, just a Parmesan and cream cheese. Staff did not know what I was talking about when I asked if there was any more. A large selection of Asian and western mock meats - many of which have egg or milk though. Pretty much a regular supermarket with a tiny amount of vegan items. Disappointing.

Fresh avocado sushi, hummus, tons of frozen veg options, vegan cheese, a health food section!

Chances are, that even as a vegan or vegetarian, you will have to go to the supermarket now and then :-)

While it is never a totally pleasant experience, as you have to walk through aisles with animal products and experience the smell and sights, there are some supermarkets that at least offer something for vegans and vegetarians as well,

Village grocer in Bangsar (located in Bangsar Village) is a great example of this. I do not know if their other outlets also have this new offers, but since March 2014, they have been offering a wide range of vegan and vegetarian products:

- Vegan Cheeses from Cheezly and Follow Your Heart
- Vegan slices and sausages from VBites
- Soy yoghurts from ALPRO
- Lots of non-dairy milks, including organic varieties
- Vegan and vegetarian burgers, roasts, and other mock meats

Of course, they also do offer fresh produce and they do have a good organic section.
