the so called 'burger' is only a patty with one sauce (of your choice), salad aside would be charged extra. the 'shepards cake' was dry and tasteless.
the food was heated up in a microwave. nothing fresh, everything felt very heavy.
the cakes (cheesecake + nut cake) were not that bad, but also not good at all. super sweet and heavy.
after all, it felt very out-dated. they are by far better options.
Pros: plenty of vegan options...
Cons: ...the ones we tried are bad, food heated in the microwave, nothing fresh

I love it! - Edit
After its launching test run this lovely vegan restaurant has turned into a real gem, offering SO many delicious dishes and killer desserts it is almost impossible to choose! Their new menu doesn't fall short of perfection. My personal favorites are the Seiten salad and eggplant-soy musaka, the onion beer soup and the abundant vegan breakfast.
Pros: vegan paradise, central and magical location, friendly staff

We were deeply unsatisfied - Edit
Food did not taste at all, rather a bistrot than restaurant, extremely overpriced (food is heated in microwave?!?!?!). If you are looking for a place to have a good meal and a nice time I think this is not the one you should go to. Furthermore, they also weren't friendly.
Pros: I don't see an advantage
Cons: overpriced, strange meal, bad taste

Greatt food - Edit
This place serves really great food with some super nice specials that the waitress will tell you about, try the shakshuka if they have and maybe also the starters plate or snacks or sth, great selection of good sauces etc ;)
Pros: food is gorgeous, location is good, they bring you water
Cons: waiter is a bit shy with tourists, second round main dish came when I was eating cold

מקום נחמד - Edit

Disappointed - Edit
I am disappointed. Disappointed by the food at this new vegan wait-staffed Village Green and disappointed to have to write a not-great review - particularly as it is the first Happy Cow review for this location.
We love the 'old' Village Green - and loved the two locations on/off Emek Refaim in the German Colony. We have been going to them for over a decade - and have always been pleased - and particularly pleased to bring our non-veg'n friends to dine with us.
Thus, the disappointment was increased by our desire to thank the proprietor for going vegan with the new location, and for making the restaurant a tad more formal than the original location (by adding wait staff and table service).
We were eight people - 6 vegans and 2 non. The service was good and the ambiance - sitting in a nice outdoor courtyard - was pleasant.
The food, however, was average. The Shepherds Pie was inexplicably tiny and tasteless; the Summer Salad was no different than the nice vegan salads at chain restaurants like Aroma or Cafe Cafe; the pizza was fine, but not special; the green salad with tofu was drenched in vinaigrette that made it inedible; the hot seitan sandwich was about 85% bread and 15% seitan & veggies; the one exception was the goulash, which was described by our guest as "creative and tasty."
I'm hoping that our experience (8:15pm on a Thursday night) was an exception to the excellent experience we've come to expect at the other Village Green locations, and perhaps our newly-lowered expectations will make that a reality when we return. We truly pray that will be the case - as Jerusalem needs an excellent vegan restaurant.
Pros: Vegan, Location, Service
Cons: Food
