Well-established vegan restaurant - Edit
Operating for 10 years, this well-established vegan restaurant is a great find! Got there a few minutes early and they kindly let me start with a green tea. The menu is huge. The service was friendly and the food, especially the tofu spinach momos and grilled veggies, was very tasty. Looking forward to trying more.

Delicious meal and kind service - Edit
I found a number of lovely things to choose from. The menu is clear and has almost all food clearly labeled as vegan. I had a minestrone soup, California rolls and a lovely dumpling type thing :)

So many excellent food options! NOTE change in opening hours - Edit
I came here to enjoy a relaxing dinner arriving at 8:45 pm only to be told that they were closing in 15 minutes. What?! I showed them Happy Cow which stated their hours were 10 am-11 pm. They said that hours had changed to 9 pm. So important to always send updates and changes to admin to amend as necessary and help future reviewers.
Read moreI was desperate as had been looking forward to coming here and asked if there was anything that they could make and would gladly do a takeaway. The menu is extensive and full of yummy options, but I selected on cashier’s recco and what could be made quickly. In the end, I ordered California rolls tempura option, spicy tofu with vegetables, a sparkling mango- passionfruit lemonade and as there were several sweets available chose two like apple pie rolls ( think McDonalds but homemade and better) , Snickers bar on a stick and an oatmeal raisin cookie.
I took the food back to where I staying and must say all of it was delicious especially the California tempura rolls with wasabi and picked ginger. OMG! Generous portion and gobbled down quickly.
The service was friendly and helpful and was grateful to leave with food as starving and appreciated not being turned away.
Hope that I get another chance to come in as I was dying to try the dumplings and momos but was told takes about 30 minutes to prepare.
I can see why this place is highly reviewed and so often as the food options are varied, extensive and if pictures in the menu are anything to go by then everything is delicious!
Wishing Veggie House many more years of continued success! It is really a gem in Astana!
Pros: extensive vegan food options , has several homemade vegan dessert options, good portions and reasonably priced

Had the tofu curry, lemonade and carrie cake. Tofu was absolutely amazing and the curry sauce was great. The lemonade was decent and the carrot cake was fantastic. Everything seemed home made.

Nice place! - Edit
Most of the dishes are vegan and the menu is extensive, so everyone is sure to find something delicious. It’s a great chance to try local cuisine in a vegan version: something that’s not easy to come by in Kazakhstan. A small downside: the waiting time was long. But everything I ordered was delicious!

Lonely astana vegan - Edit

Life-saving for vegans in Astana - Edit
I went there with my gf who has lived in Kazakhstan as a non-vegetarian and had tried traditional meat based dishes like dumplings, manty etc. She's saying that these vegan options resemble very much the original recipes, for me they were also delicious. They have an enormous menu, most of the dishes are vegan, there are gluten free options available. I very much liked it out there, the interior gives positive vibes, it's cozy and peaceful.

Nice place - Edit
The small place has a huge offer which they cook on their own, I was quite impressed.
Read moreRanging from cookies to cappuccino with oat milk to dishes from Kasachstan and also international dishes.
Communication in English was possible, but not so easy. No English menu. Wide range of products in the menu. The taste was quite good! I had Wereniki and an algae salad.
The atmosphere was not so cosy b because of the light and very "modern", but ok

New location, new menu, more vegan options - Edit
I remember this place from 5 years back. It has moved to the location, got bigger, changed its menu (I liked the "old" tastes better. However, now they offer more vegan options) and got more expensive. It's great that they are still there for us.

The only veggie cafe in the city - Edit
It’s sad to state, but it’s a pain to find vegan dishes in Nur-Sultan. So it’s a big luck that there is such cafe near the Museum of the Future.

Friendly vegetarian/vegan place - Edit
Astana’s no place for vegans, so this was a treat. Tucked away in a quiet street just a few minutes by taxi from the centre of Astana, it’s a simple, café-restaurant with friendly, welcoming staff. (They don’t speak a lot of English, but are keen to help.) The menu’s all vegetarian and about half of it’s vegan. We ate so well we came back a couple of nights later for more. The highlight was a fried aubergine dish, but other great things included battered tofu ‘fish’, borscht, a seaweed salad, and passion-fruit lemonade. The starters, soups and salads seemed better than the main courses, and there were a few dishes that were a little uninspired. Tofu with vegetables and couscous could have done with more flavour. No vegan deserts, disappointingly. But, overall, it was great, and so welcome in a city where the main dish is horse-meat.

Cons: No vegan desserts
