Limited vegan options - Edit
I came here for a group meal but also wanted to see what vegan options were available to update Happy Cow. Can confirm no vegan crepes which is disappointing when ‘fajita’ filling is soymeat and veggies but crepe itself made from eggs and milk.
Read moreI enjoyed the cream of lentil soup ( plant based broth) with a lemon lime lemonade. Soup was delicious and filling.
I checked the menu and found following vegan side options beside soup:
homemade potatoes
country style potatoes
grilled vegetables
steamed rice
aubergine and tofu cheese omit oyster sauce ( why not soy sauce?! Seriously!)
One could make a meal with various sides which is fine, but with Koktem next door hands down would go there ( went 4 times alone during my Astana visit) as have dedicated separate vegan menu and a vegan dessert- chocolate cake which is delicious.
An inexpensive option, but not my first choice or second ( if only Veggie House was closer!)
Pros: could make inexpensive meal with sides
Cons: very limited vegan options

The vegan crepes were very tasty. 2 savory options and one sweet one. They also had coffee options vegan. Very tasty!

One savoury and one sweet option for vegans. I had the faxitos with fake meat and it was alright but nothing special. The place lacked some touch and soul.
