Freshly made food , that is very tasty. When we were there, it was packed so had to wait a while . But the freshly made food was so good it was worth the wait..

Cons: A bit higher priced then other local options but y

Delicious asian inspired vegetarian food

Veggie Bean is located on the left hand side of the main road as you travel north up the hill out of Chaweng. The decor is modern, stylish and similar to that of a vegetarian restaurant in London. There is seating for 14 people and, unusually for Thailand, it is all indoors. The restaurant is absolutely spotless.

When I visited, there were four other customers in the restaurant, one waiter and one chef. This meant that service was a little slow but the waiter ensured we were aware of the potential delay before we sat down.

The menu is vegetarian with an asian influence but they can customise most things to vegan.

I had the Wasabi Tofu (95 THB / £1.90) to start, Sweet & Sour Veggies (120 THB / £2.40) for my main course and the Fruit Salad (150 THB / £3) for desert. I also had a mixed fruit smoothie (120 THB / £2.40) which was the nicest smoothie I had during my time in Thailand!

All of the food was well presented and absolutely delicious. However, I have a healthy appetite and found the portion sizes to be slightly small. The service was excellent throughout and the waiter had a delightfully relaxed and friendly manner.

It wasn’t the best meal I had during my time in Thailand but it was a lovely final meal before travelling back to London the following morning. I will certainly return again when I am next in Kho Samui.

Pros: Delicious, Healthy, Attentive Service

Cons: Small Portions, Not Vegan, Slow Service

Good, fresh, healthy food

With its emphasis on fresh and healthy cuisine, Veggie Bean offers a welcome change of pace from the oil-heavy menus of most other Samui restaurants. The small menu features salads, sandwiches, appetizers, and a few warm dishes, as well as good fresh juices.

Our favorite was the wasabi-mushroom salad, which has plenty of good flavor. The other dishes we tried had simpler flavors, but still satisfying.

Prices and portions were reasonable considering the quality (with the exception of the hummus appetizer, which was just a tiny bowl, gone in a few bites).

We would've eaten here more often if the menu included more vegan options (there were just a handful, without much range). Perhaps in the future they might be able to expand their vegan offerings.

Service was warm and helpful. The only issue was that, with only two people in the kitchen, they were sometimes overwhelmed when a few guests ordered around the same time. So, unless you're coming during off-peak hours, we suggest coming/phoning early and placing your order at least half an hour before you're likely to be feeling hunger pangs.

Pros: Fresh & salubrious, a few good vegan options, warm service

Cons: Limited menu, especially for vegans, service can be on the slow side

Excellent

Wonderful new restaurant near the Sheraton Samui. Very clean. Excellent smoothies and delicious sandwiches. The coconut veggie soup was spectacular. Fairly priced. Highly recommended.
