Market stall specializing in vegan and vegetarian fake meat products: bbq ribs, seitan, sausages, burgers, facon. Sells at various markets including Saturday Nelson Market and the Sunday Motueka Market. Open Fri 10:00am-5:00pm.
I am not a fan of meet replacements; however this lady is making amazing sausages, seitan speaks, stews. My favorite was the vegan bacon. It doesn't resembel the taste of bacon to me, maybe it looks a little bit like bacon with the stripes. It is delicious on a fresh peace of sourdough baguette or bread. Worth checking it out!
First of all the lady who runs this place is abit of a legend! Stumbled across her stall at the Nelson market, and sampled some of the chorizo and pastrami, and liked her stuff so much we visited her shop at the end of our trip. We bought Italian sausage , chorizo and some steaks!
Loved the vegan seitan slices. Made a vegan Reuben sandwich (toasted bread with spread, sauerkraut) and added the slices. It was so good. Also enjoyed the ckn strips. Added them to a wrap filled with veggies and lettuce. Sampled the vegan sausage and it was yummy...will buy these next time.
Stumbled upon this stall at the market & it's very yum! I brought home some "pastrami" and "bacon" and devoured them pretty quickly. Will definitely seek it out again next time I'm in Nelson.
Checked this stall out at the Saturday Market and sampled some vegan seitan sausages. It's a bit pricey, but really cool initiative! And... super delicious :)
