Huge portions - Edit
Everyday cuisine in a nice set and a good location.
Read moreThe portions are huge (the slice of cake is like 25cm high) and the food not very delicate. Or feels a bit like you're eating at your Italian Grandma's 😉

We love this place! Delicious food and some great options. Rather expensive but it comes with a hearty appetizer and a big entrée. We had to take half the entrée home.

VG muffin and Crêpes - Edit
We went back to Vegano to try their new brunch options. We’ve tried the VG muffin and the crêpes strawberries bananas. It was really good, big portions and the faux bacon in the muffin taste good as well. The espresso coffee is a bit ordinary compared to all the options you can get in the area. But overall we really like our plates and the vibe of the place is great too 👍🏻!

Ma quatrième fois! - Edit

Very good - Edit
We went for dinner which I think is only Friday nights. For me it was really good Italian comfort food. A lot of vegan places put emphasis on being healthy, but sometimes I still feel hungry after my meal - that's not the case here :)
Read moreThe fake chicken really tasted like chicken, some people might not like that! The chef told me the cheeze was Daiya, which I didn't know before since I'm a new vegan, and to me it tasted amazing!!
I enjoyed bringing my own wine too!
I also went alone for lunch during a weekday but the burger was lacking some vegetables. It was just bread with a veggie-meat patty and was a little pasty as it was too dry. Some tomatoes and lettuce would've been nice, and pickles... But, the taste was good and I really liked the mac and cheese.
All in all, I loved this place and would recommend it to everyone, even non-vegans!
I can't wait to go for breakfast as it seems to me that this is their specialty, but since we live on the south shore it is more difficult...
Pros: big portions, tasty food, bring your own wine
Cons: dinner only on Fridays, expensive

GREAT BRUNCH - Edit
Our first time visiting VEGANO. Super-Busy Sunday brunch crowd. Chick-pea omelette was a huge portion and delicious. Taking out the pizza for the road trip back to Toronto. We’ll most definitely visit next time we are in Montreal. Very friendly staff.

amazing brunch! - Edit
We went here for breakfast and had an absolutely amazing meal. The menu is completely vegan though it may not look it. The descriptions of food are very simple and the restaurant is pretty low key and unpretentious so we didn’t expect all that much but when the food came it was mind blowing, with some incredibly inventive choices (my omelette came with beet preserve and was made using chickpea flower). The presentation also is beautiful. Prices are higher but the portions are huge and you’ll absolutely get two meals worth of food. Our waiter was also the owner and he was so lovely and hospitable. At the end of our meal, sitting stuffed with a pile of take out boxes, he gave us a chocolate croissant on the house. Well worth having to be over full for a moment. Would absolutely go here again. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Super tasty pain dore!! - Edit
Went for brunch and got a smoothie (awesome), fresh orange juice (amazing), pain dore Krispy and an omelette. The pain dore was FANTASTIC! It was so good we ordered a second. The omelette was a little dry, thick, and greasy. I wouldn't recommend the omelette but everything else was awesome and the staff could not be nicer!!!!

Je ne suis pas du genre à me plaindre d'un restaurant mais mon expérience chez végano l'oblige. Faut dire que j'avais beaucoup d'attente vue tout les bons commentaire. Nous y sommes allé pour le déjeuner;

At first I wasn't sure... - Edit
Vegano is a small diner-style restaurant with simple decor. It's clean inside, with white paper "tablecloths" and cute red fabric napkins (thanks for reducing waste!) They offered a 1 page brunch menu which appeared to be seasonal. Had a pumpkin spice latte, and the biscuits and gravy.

if you miss eating italian food as a vegan - Edit
I was really looking forward to trying this place! To make things clear, it's not somewhere you can eat super healthy. Most options are loaded with oil, garlic and cheese. I must say it was tasty, but I did feel like taking a nap afterwards because digestion wasn't easy! I had the avocado mac and cheese and my friend had the hamburgersteak. Presentations were just like your grandma served it (maybe we don't have the same type of grandmas so let's say there was sinply no though put into it). Service was friendly and there is a lady that has a beaming smile (must be the owner?) anyway, the decor looks a bit cheap but it really is some kind of diner meant for vegans who want pastas. Seems like a family place.
Read moreIf you want to have dessert, please share a portion of cake! We had an almond and fresh blueberry cake and we were full even if we shared it! Delicious!
Pros: service, located beside a park, huge cakes
Cons: music and decor were ok, very fat dishes

Delicious food. - Edit
Our family ordered lots of food, we were super hungry and, although we had to wait for a while for our food to arrive, everything was really good. We enjoyed the omelet, the crepes, the waffles, the "chicken" sub sandwiches, and the pasta dish with broccoli and cream sauce. The portions were very generous. We were stuffed and had to take some of our food to go. The staff was very friendly. We will surely come back our next time through Montreal.

What is there more to add about this place? It's simple and unpretentious. The menu is updated weekly, the plates are extremely generous. It's a cuisine cooked from the heart, with love and you can feel it right away. Eating there will not only fill your stomachs with extraordinary scrumptious Italian food but also your hearts when you feel the passion Alessandro, the owner and cook, has put in his restaurant. 1000000000% recommended!

Ok so first off, the BLUEBERRY LEMON DANISH is the [censored]!! so fluffy and moist.... perfect for any vegans craving pastries! second, this is a legit brunch / breakfast spot and I dig that. We def need more of those in this city; not just "we serve some brunch options on the weekend sometimes" type thing.
