VG muffin and Crêpes - Edit

We went back to Vegano to try their new brunch options. We’ve tried the VG muffin and the crêpes strawberries bananas. It was really good, big portions and the faux bacon in the muffin taste good as well. The espresso coffee is a bit ordinary compared to all the options you can get in the area. But overall we really like our plates and the vibe of the place is great too 👍🏻!

Ma quatrième fois! - Edit

Pros: Mets succulents, Apportez votre vin, Desserts

Cons: Décor,musique

overpriced , bland food - Edit

I understand, as vegan, that we do pay more for our food ( although if it's not organic, raw or made with very rare ingredients, don't see why we should). I know that it's not a fast food joint and that the 'chef' should have given some thoughts to the menu...so many good reviews...my expectations were high ! Aanyway , Vegano is overpriced in all corners: decor, design and specially the FOOD!!! The place is outdated, with a hint of oldish Italian cheap pizzeria, the ceiling shows signs of water leaks in some places and being a small place , if you get a table next to the kitchen windows , you ( and your clothes) will end up smelling like grease for a while...( lack of good ventilation?) In the middle of ceiling there is a disco mirror ball... kind of threw me off...a memento from past glorious events taking place over there?? Even without the tables , the only dance you'll be able to perform is an intimate tango (with yourself!). Irony apart, I must confess....yes, I was very disappointed, but not for the decor, odours but, THE FOOD. I ordered a sausage, biscuits, green beens and gravy plate. (18.50$ +tax). After a 30' wait ( restaurant was 30-40% full) I was presented with a very sad dish, but again...we vegans endure almost anything to taste something extraordinary even if it doesn't look appealing...well it was definitely not the case. Three sausages ( I may wrongly assume they were not homemade, but decent), green beans were cook nicely but the biscuits (2) were dry and bland and the gravy (sadly covering everything ) extremely salty but bland without seasoning, soul, ....do the chef taste the food before it leaves the kitchen? Maybe it wasn't my lucky day....maybe the rest of the menu is unbelievable good ...but 21.00$ for that crappy dish is almost offensive. Huge portion?? not at all, even if the ingredients were fresh and good quality , the final flavour was far from professional. But again , maybe if I give Vegano another try....will see...let the time go by....I might forget this unfortunate experience. For those who know the area, my standard is Aux Vivres

Pros: Location, Intention ( to offer 100% vegan menu), Nice staff

Cons: too expensive, mediocre - bland food, Grease-smelly-place

Very good - Edit

We went for dinner which I think is only Friday nights. For me it was really good Italian comfort food. A lot of vegan places put emphasis on being healthy, but sometimes I still feel hungry after my meal - that's not the case here :)
The fake chicken really tasted like chicken, some people might not like that! The chef told me the cheeze was Daiya, which I didn't know before since I'm a new vegan, and to me it tasted amazing!!
I enjoyed bringing my own wine too!

I also went alone for lunch during a weekday but the burger was lacking some vegetables. It was just bread with a veggie-meat patty and was a little pasty as it was too dry. Some tomatoes and lettuce would've been nice, and pickles... But, the taste was good and I really liked the mac and cheese.

All in all, I loved this place and would recommend it to everyone, even non-vegans!

I can't wait to go for breakfast as it seems to me that this is their specialty, but since we live on the south shore it is more difficult...

Pros: big portions, tasty food, bring your own wine

Cons: dinner only on Fridays, expensive

GREAT BRUNCH - Edit

Our first time visiting VEGANO. Super-Busy Sunday brunch crowd. Chick-pea omelette was a huge portion and delicious. Taking out the pizza for the road trip back to Toronto. We’ll most definitely visit next time we are in Montreal. Very friendly staff.

amazing brunch! - Edit

We went here for breakfast and had an absolutely amazing meal. The menu is completely vegan though it may not look it. The descriptions of food are very simple and the restaurant is pretty low key and unpretentious so we didn’t expect all that much but when the food came it was mind blowing, with some incredibly inventive choices (my omelette came with beet preserve and was made using chickpea flower). The presentation also is beautiful. Prices are higher but the portions are huge and you’ll absolutely get two meals worth of food. Our waiter was also the owner and he was so lovely and hospitable. At the end of our meal, sitting stuffed with a pile of take out boxes, he gave us a chocolate croissant on the house. Well worth having to be over full for a moment. Would absolutely go here again. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Pros: everything. wonderful place.

Super tasty pain dore!! - Edit

Went for brunch and got a smoothie (awesome), fresh orange juice (amazing), pain dore Krispy and an omelette. The pain dore was FANTASTIC! It was so good we ordered a second. The omelette was a little dry, thick, and greasy. I wouldn't recommend the omelette but everything else was awesome and the staff could not be nicer!!!!

Pros: all vegan, fast service

Déçu - Edit

Je ne suis pas du genre à me plaindre d'un restaurant mais mon expérience chez végano l'oblige. Faut dire que j'avais beaucoup d'attente vue tout les bons commentaire. Nous y sommes allé pour le déjeuner;

At first I wasn't sure... - Edit

Vegano is a small diner-style restaurant with simple decor. It's clean inside, with white paper "tablecloths" and cute red fabric napkins (thanks for reducing waste!) They offered a 1 page brunch menu which appeared to be seasonal. Had a pumpkin spice latte, and the biscuits and gravy.

Pros: Food was delicious, Half of the plate was veggies, The biscuits were the best I've had (veg or otherw

Cons: Menu could have provided better descriptions, Freezing inside - both doors open in mid-October, Way too much ginger in the PSL

if you miss eating italian food as a vegan - Edit

I was really looking forward to trying this place! To make things clear, it's not somewhere you can eat super healthy. Most options are loaded with oil, garlic and cheese. I must say it was tasty, but I did feel like taking a nap afterwards because digestion wasn't easy! I had the avocado mac and cheese and my friend had the hamburgersteak. Presentations were just like your grandma served it (maybe we don't have the same type of grandmas so let's say there was sinply no though put into it). Service was friendly and there is a lady that has a beaming smile (must be the owner?) anyway, the decor looks a bit cheap but it really is some kind of diner meant for vegans who want pastas. Seems like a family place.

If you want to have dessert, please share a portion of cake! We had an almond and fresh blueberry cake and we were full even if we shared it! Delicious!

Pros: service, located beside a park, huge cakes

Cons: music and decor were ok, very fat dishes

Pros: Bonne machine a expresso

Delicious food. - Edit

Our family ordered lots of food, we were super hungry and, although we had to wait for a while for our food to arrive, everything was really good. We enjoyed the omelet, the crepes, the waffles, the "chicken" sub sandwiches, and the pasta dish with broccoli and cream sauce. The portions were very generous. We were stuffed and had to take some of our food to go. The staff was very friendly. We will surely come back our next time through Montreal.

Pros: Huge portions, Really good taste, All vegan menu

Cons: Long wait, Slow service

What is there more to add about this place? It's simple and unpretentious. The menu is updated weekly, the plates are extremely generous. It's a cuisine cooked from the heart, with love and you can feel it right away. Eating there will not only fill your stomachs with extraordinary scrumptious Italian food but also your hearts when you feel the passion Alessandro, the owner and cook, has put in his restaurant. 1000000000% recommended!

Ok so first off, the BLUEBERRY LEMON DANISH is the shits!! so fluffy and moist.... perfect for any vegans craving pastries! second, this is a legit brunch / breakfast spot and I dig that. We def need more of those in this city; not just "we serve some brunch options on the weekend sometimes" type thing.

We had the triple grilled cheese with "ham" and the brocoli omelet; both were very tasty and delicious!

Only thing, that isn't that bad lol, is the size of the portions.... its HUGE. so be ready to bring a doggy bag back :)

Ill be back to try more of the menu for sure! 🖤

Pros: vegan , great location , friendly staff , great bo

Cons: shitty radio music, chai latte was meh, portions are insanely huge

Why did I wait so long? - Edit

It took me 4 months to finally visit Vegano and that is a big mistake!
The food I had was just perfect, so much that I could see myself eating it every day. I had the waffles with vegan chicken, and it was extremely tasty, particularly with a generous helping of maple syrup.
The side of Caesar salad made with spinach was also perfect and creamy.
I cannot wait to go back!

The diner-style atmosphere is also very pleasant.

Pros: Huge portions, Super tasty food, BYOW

Cons: A little expensive
