Unique (apart from the other Vegan Yes) - Edit
My wife and I called in late on a Sunday. It was empty and I have no idea where all the vegans must have gone. The food, drink and service were first class, and absolutely delicious. If you are anywhere near, put Vegan Yes on your list of places you MUST visit.

Best Mochi Ever! - Edit
We visited Vegan Yes in the late afternoon and decided to eat early. The proprietors were very helpful, explaining the menu and giving additional information about the food. The food is freshly prepared and cooked onsite by their Italian chef, who blends his passion for traditional home cooked Italian food with his interest in Korean dishes and flavours (Chef Mauro’s wife is Korean). This fusion of flavours was a treat for the tastebuds and I only wish I could’ve tried more, but the portions were so generous and filling! Luckily, we bought four dark mochi to try later and were not disappointed - they were sweet, soft and chewy, coated with chocolate and sprinkled with sesame seeds, hemp seeds, sunflower seeds or ground almonds; the best we’ve ever tasted!

These geniusses have opened my eyes on a grand new continent: the fusion of corean and italian cuisine. Since then, I have gnocchi with kimchi all the time at home.

Gosh....that food is good - Edit
I stumbled across the Brick Lane outlet in the summer and was initial a bit sceptical that Italian/Korean fusion food would work. Well, they make it work here. Been there three times now and just polished off the sausages and the dark chocolate Mochi again....Big thumbs up.

Exciting fusion food! - Edit
Really exciting menu with a mix of Italian and Korean food. We had the lasagna bolognese and the kimchi lasagna, and 4 mochis (dessert!). And we tried a blue tea and a moringa latte as well. And a hemp sausage! Very exciting!
Read moreWe especially loved the bolognese lasagna, the tea and the mochis. And the dressing on the spinach was amazing.
Also the owner/staff is really friendly and helpful. We had some trouble with our suitcase and borrowed some scissors to try to fix it, as we were headed straight for the airport after our visit, and the staff was really sweet and caring. We will be back!
PS. You HAVE to try the mochis. And the blue tea. :)

Adventurous options - all vegan and with an emphasis on healthy nutrition. The mushroom gnocchi was amazing. Tiny snack bar, one member of staff (she spoke broken English) but incredibly friendly welcome and warm service.

Unique Fusion Place - Edit
As we entered this tiny, mostly take-away style place, the one staff member working offered me a seaweed snack out of its plastic container which was quirky but cool. There were several large posters on the walls explaining some of the dishes and how the chef owner (Italian counselor and tantric yogi?) and his wife invented them. I ordered the kimchi lasagna because kimchi lasagna! My husband got the Bolognese lasagna. While the dishes are homemade, there's no kitchen, so the food is heated up and served to you. The serving size was generous and the spinach side salad was tasty. The kimchi lasagna was spicy and I enjoyed it but my husband didn't like it. He did like his lasagna though. They have chocolate mochi (it's quite sweet but good) and chocolate mousse (not that sweet, very creamy) and next time we'll try the chocolate gnocchi, because chocolate gnocchi! The non-alcohol drink selection was limited.

Disappointing except for the amazing kimchi. Also cash only! - Edit
I was so excited when I walked into this place. The concept is so cool and the man who greeted me was very hospitable. I asked for a kimchi side salad as an appetizer and they allowed me to try all (four!) types of kimchi. I then ordered a main dish and waited for over an hour for my food as I watched everyone around me get theirs (including one woman who ordered the same dish as me, but after me). They were rather passive about it when I pointed out they had forgotten me and did nothing to make up for the fact. The main dish itself (the gnocchi) was actually rather bland.

I‘m so lucky I stumbled upon this cute restaurant. It‘s such a cool idea, the staff was open and friendly and chatty and most importantly, the food was AMAZING. I had the kimchi lasagna and was blown away. And the dark mochi desert is now my favourite. I‘ll be so happy when I can show this place to my sister!

Sweet little cafe and the chef and staff are just gorgeous. The food is really unusual with so much thought and good intention behind it. You feel healthier the moment you step inside! But be warned, you will leave with a Dark Mochi addiction...
