i never been to the restaurant since i am very far away but i have ordered through uber eats a couple times and its always sooo yummy. even after 40 mins of sitting everythings still crispy and warm. last time i ordered i got the soul plate with oyster mushrooms and mashed potatoes and greens and soup. im not really a big fan of lentils but the lentil soup is so flavorful!!! i havent found many vegan restaurants that offer authentic soul food flavors so i really enjoy ordering from here 🥡🐮

Always a big fan of Vegan World Cafe. Hot fresh food, always delicious, and I order from them at least once a week! My favorites are the vegan drumsticks, Mac and cheese, greens, ribs, and cauliflower wings! I’ve been in the restaurant twice and ordered via Uber eats every other time. Everyone is super welcoming and kind. Food is always delivered fast. Hope to see some new stuff out soon! 💖

To Beginn with, I’d like to start off by saying that I ordered multiple times! (This is how good they are)
What did I order: (from most favorite to least favorite)
„Chicken Snaps“ the marinade was perfect, the texture so authentic and the taste was on point! Full 5/5! ( I am glad I still had vegan ranch at the hotel - great dip option that I unfortunately couldn’t order from the restaurant itself) but! They did however serve the oyster mushroom chicken with tasty bbq sauce as a side.
Next up, BBQ Ribs! 5/5! (Again, I used my own ranch, would have been great if the restaurant also offered vegan ranch- I did not find it on the menu, if they did have it and I overlooked it- excuse me for this)
Last 5/5 experience… and surprisingly!! The yams! They were just perfect. Why surprisingly? Because I originally ordere mash potatoes. When the food arrived, the restaurant wrote „so sorry - no mash“. I guess I’ll never know how the mash will taste … ;)
Now… the least favorite options with explanation.
„Mac n cheese“ - sorry… but I’ve had some real good vegan Mac n cheese and this… this was NOT it. Taste was neutral, noodles with hardly any season. 2/5
Braun lentil soup - sorry… but also not enough taste. Not enough season. Tasted almost plain. 2/5
All in all, I would still rate my orders 4/5 if you try the delicious items I’ve mentioned above! I am sure they have even more great dishes and I am looking forward to my next visit to Chicago to try the variety of their menu.
One last thing that irritated me, as i ordered (via Uber eats) I did want to purchase the ribs additionally; without having to order the full soul plate. That would have been great!
Lastly, I am happy to recommend this here vegan soul food menu! Finger licking good experience and most importantly, WITHOUT Animal Cruelty!

Place is clean and the owner is sweet and friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered the cauliflower wings in chick pea flower to make them gluten free. Yummy! So glad this place exists in the hood y’all!! I will mos def be back!!

I loved the chicken snaps (delicious) didn't even need sauce or ketchup for me (just my opinion). I also had the ribs with collard greens and Mac n cheese. All of the food was good, although I wasn't thr biggest fan of the Mac n cheese (I prefer mine more thick than a creamy texture). Bottom line, would I recommend YES, would I go back (when I'm in town) YES...

The ribs and chicken fried steak were amazing! Yummy spaghetti had a little hot sauce in it. Generous portion soul plates for $18 💥😺‼️ Friendly chef said he learned from the best! husband and i ordered a soul plate with ribs, yams and mac, and an order of chikn snaps with mashed potatoes. the chikn snaps and mashed potatoes were amazing, i even dipped the snaps in the potatoes! as for the ribs, we only got four pieces, which we were not expecting for the price ($17). they were good, don't get me wrong, just a little disappointed by the small amount. the yams were too sweet for me, but my husband liked them, and the mac and cheese wasn't a favorite.

I went with a vegan meetup to check out this gem. The steam table had endless options; I got so involved in conversation that I missed some. I Ioved the barbecue. The seafood was bland, but added seasoning during cooking could remedy that. Liked that the ginger lemonade had agave syrup for the sweetener. Thank goodness, the fried tofu wasn't dried out as it is at most places. Although the mac 'n cheese was looser than I'd expected, I liked it. Dining was indoors or outdoors in the backyard.

First of all, I love that there is a purely vegan restaurant 10 min from us. Before we’d have to drive into the city and this is just around the corner. They have tons of options but since we went on a Sunday, the menu was more limited. I look forward to trying more options on another day. The items are a bit pricey but it seems like everything these days is expensive. I got the soul plate (ribs and chose the collard greens and Mac and cheese). The ribs were definitely the star of the plate. (My non vegan husband thought they were very realistic). The bbq sauce is so delicious! The sides were decent. We also got their cookie and lemon cake which which were pretty tasty. I would definitely recommend and will be back!

Got the Soul Platter. The yams, mac n' cheese, kale and the ribs were definitely the highlights. Full of flavor! Don't expect the mac n' chees to taste like the dairy version, but it is Delicious! Mashed potatoes were pretty bland. The barbecue sauce was fire!

Totally affordable, amazing, vegan option on the west side of Chicago. A first! Very reminiscent of salvage but I might see a little better? Greens, ribs, faux fish and mashed potatoes were amazing. I cannot wait to go back and try more.
