It is so wonderful to find something that is all vegan! It is hard to find in this town. And the food was great. Limited menu, with a daily special and four other items. All of them were good.

Wonderful, healthy food - Edit
This is a must visit. I wish it wasn’t closed on weekends (Google says it’s only open M-F. We didn’t ask.). Everything was freshly prepared, high-quality and delicious. We had blue-corn hot cakes, chilaquiles with seitan cutlets and a large green salad. All excellent! The lattes were so good too.

Absolutely delectable little Vegan Mexican restaurant in charming Zihuatanejo. They have a list of items for the day, and a daily special that you're going to love! It's always such a relief when you know everything on the menu is Vegan. Home cooking that you're going to be salivating over!

Would recommend getting in touch first (WhatsApp and Google Maps Chat both worked for me) to check if Vegan Rubi is open - it was only third time lucky for us!
Read moreWhen we did manage to find the shutters up, we found vegan rubi to be simple and affordable. It's a set, three course meal (on the day we attended: cauliflower soup, vegetable curry, and cinnamon roll with a lemonade) and the service was prompt and friendly.
For a 3 course meal, it was 100 pesos per person and the food was straight forward and tasty!

Another excellent vegan option when in Zihuatanejo, Vegan Rubí - Edit
Ah, Dear Friends, there is good news tonight. Zihuatanejo has another vegan option. Unless I am mistaken, this is the first review for Vegan Rubí on HappyCow.net. However, the mesero, Ricardo, told me that they had been open for about 2 years. The menu is limited but has a number of sufficiently tempting choices. The main attraction is the "comida del dia" (plate of the day). At the time of this writing (January 2024), the plate of the day was MXN$100 peso. You get a soup, an entrée, and a dessert. I went two days in a row after Ricardo told me that the next day, they would have curry. The standouts were the BBQ Cauliflower Wings and the Beet Cream dessert. We hope that Chef Rubí and Mesero Ricardo have much success. Check 'em out, Fellow Vegan Food Lovers!
