The food more than makes up for the decor - Edit
The food quality is so much better than the decor would lead you to believe. The menu is huge. I asked the server what she would recommend and she told us what the most popular and/or seasonal. Dishes were.
Read moreWe ordered the Curry Gyoza from her recommendation. Which raised the bar high. It tasted homemade. The noodles were thin and delicate and the mouth feel was 100 percent “chicken!” Flavored. They could fool a non Vegan! They were in the most delicious coconut Curry with a hint of White Pepper. I literally ate it with a spoon to get every drop!
We got the Fish Nuggets next. I haven’t had something that close to actual Tuna Steak since I went Vegan over 6 years ago. The texture was perfect. The breading was light and super crispy and not greasy at all. I would go back just to get those again!
My husband ordered the Wonton Noodle Soup with Tofu. It was a big bowl. He said it had a good flavor. I got the P.E.T. Dinner to get the spring rolls, house salad and brown rice (which was actually purple). I haven’t had pumpkin prepared like well since I was in Japan. It was delicious.
We are absolutely going to eat here again before we leave Chicago. This place is a gem. The chef knows what she’s doing. If there was ever a place that needed a refresh. The decor needs to be as upscale as the food tastes! 10 out of 10 food quality!
I forgot to mention the cheesecake which was tasted so authentic I had to confirm it was Vegan. The server said it was made of Cashews. Tangy and creamy and chocolatey delicious.

it was nice to get thai and not have to worry about fish sauce or paste hiding somewhere. also thai iced tea so gooood. crab rangoons were mid though i fear.

Vegan and gluten free Thai Paradise - Edit
I ordered a combo plate with gluten free gyoza, house salad and the spicy eggplant dish. I was also served a little complementary soup. Everything was very delicious! It was so hard to decide and I will definitely come back to try some of their other dishes! Service was great and very very friendly and attentive.

Great Thai Vegan Spot! - Edit
I'm so glad I made time to go to Vegan Plate on my trip to Chicago and I will be back anytime I am visiting again! I got the black pepper garlic tofu and the shumai -- both were delicious and the portions were huge. Very friendly staff and a very inviting space!

Some of my favorite Thai in the city, really good pad Thai and miso soup! Also enjoyed the satay quite a bit. Staff oddly isn't always present when open, I've been confused by this before when stopping in for lunch in particular.

I went for dinner and ordered the P.E.T. (Pumpkin, eggplant and tofu) dish. They gave me a complementary, very spicy seaweed soup, which I enjoyed. My dish was very good although a bit small for the price. Service was ok.

The Best Thai Tea - Edit
The Thai tea has a lot of flavor and the right amount of sweetness! I got the drunken noodles meal with 2 spring rolls, and salad for 16.50. It was a ton of food. The noodles were really good but I wasn’t obsessed with the tofu. It tasted bland and it was a little too soft for me. I would come back and try a different protein.

Love the food, nice staff and every entrée - like orange chicken and, pad thai are 10/10. I have eaten in, gotten take out and brought friends and everyone agrees that the food feeds our belly’s and souls. Vegans and Non Vegans I bring here and the expectations are met and surpassed. If you have the privilege to come eat at the vegan plate, do it. Dessert is A as well.

this is one of my top favorite restaurants in the chicago area.. ive been going here since 2018 and the food has always been consistently good. my favorite dish is the katsu curry & you absolutely need to get a thai tea every time you visit. i tried one of their sushi rolls recently and it's also very, very good. i also like their kung pao soy chicken. i don't think you can choose anything wrong 🐮❤️ its a small little place but its cute, and the owner is very sweet.

Incredible vegan sushi - Edit
This is the best vegan sushi we've had so far! My omni partner did not miss fish at all. Ordered a carryout on Thanksgiving and the owners were so nice. We really liked the gyoza and the sushi. The pad Thai was also good. Everything was delicious, freshly prepared, and beautiful. Will definitely be back for more!

I came for a little early dinner as I had missed lunch. Ordered the chicken katsu curry and a Thai tea lemonade. Drink excellent. The food was decent but not super flavorful. The crunch on the katsu was nice. Super friendly service and fast

We were really surprised by the great taste. First we had some fish nuggets, and they were super crispy and just delicious. Then we had a Pad Thai and Tom Yam Goong Ramen, spicy, and it was just as good if not better!

I can’t believe it took me so long to try this place, I’ll definitely be going here regularly! Lots of gluten free options, though fryer is shared with gluten items. They told me they clean pans before making things for people with gluten allergies, and my girlfriend with celiac didn’t feel sick after the meal😄food was fresh and tasty, can’t wait to try more menu items!

Read moreI recommend the Curry Gyoza appetizer, the flavors in the curry were perfectly balanced, like an angel's song in liquid form.
I also had the Pad Thai, which was the best Pad Thai I've ever tasted.
