Do they have food you don't get anywhere else? Probably not. The Seitan I can most likely make at home, and the same Schnitzel is available at various other places.
Read moreWhat they do amazingly well is the dining experience. The waiters, the menu, the food presentation....all that is amazing and for that it's really well worth going here and for me likely worth coming back on my next visit to Budapest.

So much choice of well flavoured plant based dishes, highly recommend the bolognese pizza and mushroom pappardelle. Crème brûlée so good we went back for it twice!

Really pretty restaurant despite its slightly odd location (seems to be part of a shopping mall??) They offer lots of veganised Hungarian classics including cream cake, which was especially exciting to my sweet tooth & I. The mushroom pasta was good too but maybe a bit rich and I’m not sure what the crispy topping was

Budapest has a lot to choose from, and maybe we were just unlucky with choices. The filled pancake was good, but the two mains we had were just boring, simple, so fried, not particularly seasoned at all and fairly dry. The desserts looked good though and staff were nice.

Really good hungarian vegan food, I do love it. But prices are already high, they then add on the service charge and still ask for tips! Then! the most recent time I went they brought me still water without me asking for it and charged for it. Again, food is good (coffee not very) but I just don’t think I will go again when they’re doing this sort of thing.

The atmosphere is relaxed with outdoor seating, plants, and lights, which makes it a nice place to hang out in the evening. It can get quite busy, but it’s worth it for the variety.

Mitten in Budapest findet sich dieses tolle Restaurant mit einer großen Auswahl an Speisen. Wir haben wohl leider nicht ganz die besten Speisen ausgewählt - insbesondere das "Hungarian Style Sirloin" war leider sehr trocken und daher nicht so leicht zu essen. Andererseits waren das hausgemachte Thunfischtartar und die Gulaschsuppe sehr gut!

Just what we needed on a cold afternoon after a long journey. A great selection of dishes, including Hungarian style which was simply not available without meat last time we visited, in the '90s. Everything was really tasty, portions were generous and the staff were pleasant.

My favourite vegan restaurant in Budapest - A great place to taste authentic Hungarian dishes reimagined in vegan form! When we were planning our most recent annual trip to visit family, I thought I would now be left out from having all the dishes I grew up on. Luckily though I was mistaken 🔥
Read moreI had the Hortobágyi Palacsinta and the Bécsi Szelet which were both fantastic. I also tried a bit of the Brassói from someone else in my group and it was also great. We took some Krémes with us to have later, and they were incredibly true to the non-vegan versions I remember.
Since then I’ve been inspired to recreate these dishes myself at home and I’ve gotten fairly close, but I still have some work to do to live up to them!
Next time I’m back in Budapest, Vegan Garden will be the first place to visit on my agenda ❤️
