Great food, great service - Edit
The waiter was flirting with me hard, I don't know if that's a part of the experience for everyone😄The food was great, I chose the risotto. Very big portion, hardly could finish it. For dessert I had the virgin pina colada and it was fantastic. Very easy location, and AC inside

Amazing Hungarian food - Edit
We visited Vegan Garden during a short stay in Budapest, and it was some of the best vegan food we had in a three-week trip through eastern Europe. The mushroom stroganoff was delicious and the goulash with smoked paprika was truly amazing. My ancestral roots go back to this area, so it was an amazing experience to dine on traditional dishes that were vegan. Definitely recommend if you are in Budapest.

Great food, tho could use more spice - Edit
Super excited to find a fully vegan eating place that had vegan versions of traditional food including savoury and sweets.
Read moreWe tried the savoury pancake and mushroom paprikash - both tasty but needed more spice / flavour. But think this might be how the traditional dishes are?
Had the vanilla pastry dessert - delicious! Tho very coconut. Also tried the strawberry chocolate "cheesecake", honestly would recommend against that one, wasn't great. Esp given the cream one was so tasty!
Overall, would totally recommend. Will go back but try some of the non-traditional dishes searching for flavour!
Service was a little slow at times but think this cos they were quite busy.
Pros: Vegan versions of traditional dishes, So much choice
Cons: Lacked spice / flavour a little

The best vegan we had - Edit
Everything was fresh and well thought out. My favorite dish was the Caesar salad, which we got without the nuggets. My husband loved the udon broccoli. We splurged on lemon cake and creme brunette, which he normally doesn't like but we both loved.

Completely vegan restaurant with many different delicious dishes. It is located in some kind of mall but the flair is cozy. The only small negative aspect is the beer price ;)

Traditional Hungarian food made vegan!! - Edit
Perfect spot to try authentic Hungarian dishes made vegan!! There were so many to choose from but the server helped us and we were not disappointed! We got the mushroom paprikash and the pancake and then the cream cake! Incredible! Large place lovely atmosphere. We had reservations but didn’t need them because it was empty when we came in. Lavender lemonade was wonderful! Paprikash was better than the pancake. Everyone is so friendly and helpful! Huge menu!
Read moreCame back the next night for dinner and tried the goulash!!! It’s my favorite!!! So good! We didn’t like the lecsó very much or the strawberry chocolate cake but our server Lala served us again and we loved him! We got a virgin piña colada and another lavender lemonade

Overall a great experience - Edit
The place (kind of) deserves its 5 star rating. Some dishes were very good, like the burger with fries and the tuna pizza but the teriyaki tofu and the Ragout with creamy potatoes mash not so much. The last two had rather small portions and were not so filling. The same hit or miss situation can be applied to the desserts. The cream cake (Cremeschnitte Style) was very good, whereas the warm dumplings were kind of bland. For drinks, all the lemonades and the espresso were good. Overall would recommend!

It was okay, overhyped imo - Edit
This was my second time in Budapest and my first time at vegan garden.
Read moreHonestly I’m surprised that this place is so highly rated because the food was okay, the paprika mushrooms was really good, but the seitan with potato dish was extremely salty and dry.
I also ordered a matcha latte which was a brownish green- not a high quality powder.
Maybe I should have ordered other things, but considering the price (almost €50 for 2 dishes and 2 drinks) the experience was subpar, and I would recommend going to Napfenyes or Kozmos which are much better and offer a more authentic vegan hungarian food experience.

Good food / nice restaurant - Edit
We had one dinner at VG whilst in Budapest, we meant to go back but time just got away from us! Nice space and friendly staff, a good selection of international food but we went straight for two local dishes ... One with potato's, meat replacement and fried onions and a mushroom and potato dish, both dishes very nice but the onions gave me a terribke tummy later that night! Like REALLY bad!!! Beware lol. The cream cake we shared was lovely.

The food was delicious, there are a lot of options for gluten free meals as well (desserts included). We had lentil soup, vegetable soup, goulash, calzone and from desserts: the poppy seed one, cremes and dumplings with cottage cheese. Everything was really tasty, definitely recommend!

Amazing vegan place! - Edit
The menu is really diverse and rich. And the food quality does not disappoint either. I would recommend the Mushroom Paprikash and Spinach Ravioli. Those were really great. We also tried the Calzone but were not satisfied. The sour cream was too heavy on the stomach. A must visit if you are a vegan. Was not expecting this in Budapest! ♥️
