Cozy place. Great food! - Edit
Community kitchen is really the most warm and welcoming place in Istanbul. It's like eating at a friend's place :) The owner and cook (Oya) is beautiful spirit and her food tastes simply amazing! She cooks turkish foods that are hard to get as a vegan.. like lahmacun and iskender kebab. And while eating your vegan kebab you are accompanied by lovely rescue cats! Nothing better than vegan food and rescue cats right?

Amazing place!! - Edit
This was the first place I had ate on arriving in Istanbul, and wow what a place. What a fantastic , warm welcoming cafe with a unique rustic charm The food was amazing, some of the best home cooked vegan food I have ever eaten. Brought a staunch meat eater with me and they were amazed how vegan food could taste so good! Met some lovely people there including the owner who very kindly packed up our left overs in a doggy bag. I can highly recommend this place to fellow Vegan's & Vegetarians, I can assure you will not be disappointed.

cosy, delicious and a very nice owner - Edit
Had a late lunch yesterday. The place is super cosy including three cats which enjoy getting cuddled by the animal friendly guests I guess ;)
Read moreThe reaaaally friendly and chatty owner speaks fluent English (sadly kinda rare in istanbul) so it was really easy to communicate and chat with her.
She was giving me the recommendation of the day which was a vegan kebab plate: it was awesome. Never had such a delicious and especially FILLING vegan dish before.
Price (including water) was more than fair: 27 tyr.
So I am very happy, the cats too and I will come again tomorrow ;)

Amazing food - Edit
I have visited Istanbul twice and always returned to this place. The owner spontaneously cooks something from very fresh ingredients. The lasagne is the best in the world. She has her special seitan too.
Read moreI have read some of the reviews, and I found it ridiculous that some people rated this place too expensive. The food is excellent and far too cheap for its quality.

FLUFFY CATS 10 OUT OF 10
Read moreJust kidding. There were cats but that's not the only reason to leave a good review.
The community kitchen is a lovely charming place, with super nice service and all-vegan food that was both yummy and seemed authentic. We were served great kebab and salad with wraps and the serving was plenty as well as cheap.
The community kitchen has a lovely charme and they take care of cats there, so that's maybe one thing to be wary of if you don't want them around where you eat or are allergic. But for us they were a total delight!
Would definitely come again if we're back in Istanbul.
Pros: Good food for good price, Lovely place and cozy, CATS :3

Amazing vegan döner in a cute and cozy restaurant - Edit
This is an insanely cute and cozy restaurant with a pretty varied selection of food. I had a döner kebab roll, and it was by far the best döner kebab I've had in my entire live (and I've had many both vegan and non-vegan versions). Now that I'm back in Sweden, I dream about that döner roll.
Read moreThe owner is super friendly and speaks English, so communication is no problem at all.
Finding this place is quite easy, as it's located on a side street of İstiklal street. According to Google Maps, the restaurant is permanently closed, which isn't true.

nice people, good food! - Edit
We ate vegan Kebab and Baklava and tried the vegan ayran.
Read moreAll the food was really good. Especially the Baklava! It was not so sweet and sugary like "normal" Baklava.
The people there are very warm and kind and you easily get into conversation with the other customers, what creates a comfortable atmosphere.
The Cat ist really funny and calm, too.
We will definitely go there again.
Pros: Cool cat, great vegan foodvariations, kind people

Limited choice - Edit
Unfortunately had ran out of the main dish when we arrived at 20:45 (bit early we thought for closing at 11). Being part of a set menu meant we couldn't get anything savoury. Bought baklava and hemp milk brownie which were both tasty and well priced. Fairly small seating, around 12 seats. Can't rate stars as didn't get to try enough. Didn't feel hugely welcomed.

Even non-vegetarians love it! - Edit
We stumbled upon this lovely cozy spot, and realized we found a treasure trove! Even my husband who's not a vegetarian LOVES IT! Her homemade dishes are not only tasty, the location is outside of touristic area yet accessible at the same time for visitors (it's very close to our air bnb, for example, and also close to the underground funicular which only has 2 stops) so it's a great hangout after a long day of walk!

Great little place - Edit
Small little cafe with about ten chairs. Great food, all vegan obviously which is a rarity in Istanbul and Turkey in general. Very friendly staff. Tasty food and well priced, can fill up on 10 TL.
Read moreLots of cute cats and kittens in the cafe, it seems they raise money to help street cats. I love cats so it was great for me but probably avoid if you don't like cats or are fussy about animals being around your food.

Fantastic food at a good price. If you need some inspiration to walk down the vegan path, you should try it. The "kebap" is amazing. Also try the baklava, and ask what makes it sweet ;) the space, a well-maintained ancient Beyoğlu brick structure, feels secure and spacious. Most of all, the host was absolutely warm and friendly.
