Vegan Paradise

No doubts this is #1 restaurant in San Antonio. In fact, Vegan Avenue has so many reasons to be the top vegan place in the city.
First of all, everything is gluten-free and extremely tasty. In addition, the ingredients are exceptionally fresh. Secondly, all the dishes are made from scratch, which helps to have a particular taste and won't get you sick or bloated at all.
Thirdly, SERVICE IS A 10, Tayra and D made my experience fantastic! Since I arrived on day 1 they really cared about my dietary restrictions and were exceptionally helpful.
Personally, I went every single day to have breakfast( pancakes are out of this world). Also, some days I went for dinner as well.
I will definitely recommend it for anyone who is looking for a wonderful meal.
I got really impressed by Vegan Avenue!

So yourself a favor and come here when you're in San Antonio. Some of the best vegan nachos I've had.

Good vibe

The vib is great and staff was nice, but not very attentive. Upon entering, I asked if I should seat myself. I was told yes. Then 2 families came in after me. A server went to the and got drink orders. Then someone finally came to me after about 7 -10 minutes. Then once my food came out , I had no napkins or silverware. I had to ask for them. My milkshake came out about 10 minutes after my food. The food and drinks were great. A server and either the owner or manager did come by a bit later to check on me. I eventually had to go up to counter to ask for my check, while the staff stood at counter. The music was great. I would return, but staff should be a bit more attractive.

Top Notch

My wife and I ordered several menu items to try and were blown away! The ingredients, sauces, seasoning, every aspect of the food was great. Good atmosphere, great service, mean bloody mary.

So yum

Other than it being almsot $100 for 3 adults and 2 kids to have dinner - this place was fantastic. The food was so good. I got the carne asada fries and they were bomb 🤤

Pros: Everything's vegan, Big portions , Amazing flavors

Cons: A little pricey , Need more servers , Staff said they didn't like the food there 👀

It’s ok

I was excited to try their breakfast club sandwich but I was a bit disappointed, menu said it had a beyond sausage but it was a whole beyond burger patty. I am not a fan of beyond burger Patties. I ate the sandwich without it so it was still good but was missing a good breakfast sausage. Also wasn’t a fan of the coffee, really wish they had actual coffee creamers not just milk.

Great Vegan Place

I really recommend trying this place! I’ve never had “Shroom and Grits” anywhere else, so that was fun. It’s a pretty heavy dish, but tasty! I also tried the Honee-butter Chick’n Sandwich, which was very good except for being a bit dry.

Friendly staff, nice indoor and outdoor dining areas. I’d definitely like to go back.

Pros: All vegan!, Unique dishes, Nice staff

Cons: “Heavy” dishes without elements to brighten up

5 stars for the Chilaquiles

Stopped by here while visiting San Antonio. I got the chilaquiles which were amazing and my husband got the sweet potato flautas which were flavorful when mixed with the rice and beans. The cauliflower wings were meh too much sauce and breading. I want to return and try more of the brunch items the pancakes looked amazing.

So yummy!

Cauliflower hot wings were perfect and the chickn and waffles were great. It's also gluten free if you need that option.

Really good close taste wise to Plantology

My daughter and I have been here twice in the last two weeks. The food is really good, I would compare it to plantology which is our favorite vegan place. The burger I had today was kind of sloppy like while trying to eat it,it just fell apart and could used like a sear to it. I really reccomend the ceviche, chicken sandwhich and loaded fries. Shakes and lemonade are really tasty too. I can't remember our waitresses name but she had purple and light blue hair and is so amazing. She put up with my very inquisitive and talkative daughter so nicely and was just super sweet.

Pros: Completely Vegan, Great Service, Kid approved lol

Hit or miss

My first experience was with the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, which was delightful. I went back later that week while on vacation. The cocktail, salad, and buffalo cauliflower we had that time we’re all three a “miss” that day.

My favorite vegan restaurant

This place is so good. Too good. Every time I tell myself to try something different, I end up ordering the vegan slam—your choice of waffles or pancakes, tofu scramble, sausage, and hash browns. I’ve also tried their al pastor tacos and Mexican hash. The portions are huge and so filling, and their chia lemonade is my favorite beverage.

Pros: Variety , Huge portions

Cons: On the pricey side , Service can be spotty on busy days

Grandparents Loved Their Lunch

Great food, large servings, and alcoholic beverages! I very much enjoyed my cinnamon roll pancakes, which didn’t even need the syrup. My grandpa enjoyed his cocktail and nachos. My grandmother enjoyed her classic burger. Chill atmosphere and friendly service. A few parking spots on-site, but mostly street parking.

Pros: Delicious, Alcohol

I would take you on a date here.

Loved the ambiance of this place I found it very serene. The food was mind blowing good, personally I tried the al pastor tacos, the green sauce enchiladas, & the taco-birrias, the enchiladas and tacos were both 5/5 but I will have to give the taco-birria a 3.5/5 because I found the flavor a bit lacking in the jackfruit. I am definitely coming back & I would also recommend a michilada with shinner bock if you like michis.

Jessorz was not kidding about the pancakes.

Being fairly new to plant based eating we’re always looking for new places to eat. We had the Al Pastor tacos and the Chick’N Parm Hero. Both very good and left us both very full!

Pros: Great food, Cool location

Cinnamon Roll Pancakes!

The atmosphere is decent, and most of the food is decent. But the cinnamon roll pancakes are everything. This place is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Not kidding about the pancakes.

Kind of pricey with small portions

I've been here a few times with nonvegan friends and my nonvegan husband but I am vegan. The food is definitely tasty but the problem is the portion sizes are pretty small. The price for the food is rather high and every time I've gone whether early in the day or late, they are super swamped and busy with customers. I do like the food and it is vegan but the price versus the amount of food keeps me from coming back regularly unfortunately.

Pros: Lots of a variety of vegan food, They have vegan milkshakes, They have outdoor seating

Cons: Not a lot of seating and always busy, Pretty pricey with small portions

Nice atmosphere

Vegan avenue has a really nice atmosphere with a beautiful outdoor patio. The owner is so sweet and really goes out of her way to help the vegan community in San Antonio.
The food here is all vegan and all gluten free and it is honestly pretty pricy. I think you’re paying a lot for the atmosphere and location. My husband and I go here and spend about 60 bucks if we both eat usually an appetizer, two waters and two entrees.
I really like the Buffalo cauliflower wings and my favorite was the tempeh Mac and cheese but sadly they stopped making it. I used to come once a week for it but now that it’s gone I go about once every half a year. 😭
The staff can be really slow and not very attentive which is unfortunate but I think they are often understaffed.
The food can sometimes be inconsistent but for the most part everything I’ve had has been pretty good.

Pros: Good variety , Beautiful restaurant and patio

Cons: Pretty expensive compared to other restaurants , Food can be inconsistent
