Oasis vegano - Edit
100% recomendable.

Garden is quite nice but we were not impressed by the food. We had the vegan tortellini and vegan calzone, both were OK but a bit tasteless.

Not so good - Edit
The restaurant and the people are nice but the food is not so good and is not cheap at all. We had the breakfast buffet but the fruit salad tasted onions, the juice was not fresh. I don't recommend it.

Loved this place! - Edit
We went for dinner on our last night and had one the vegan pizzas and the tofu burger, both of them were delicious!
Read moreThey also have a small shop in the front where they sell nut butters, granolas and vegan sweets, we got the almond and chocolate one and it was great.

good options for vegans - Edit
I really liked that the menu was different coloured for vegans and vegetarians, that made it really easy. There were like 4 or 5 yellow pages just with vegan food, so quite a lot to choose from. Vegetarian pages are pink and the drinks are on white pages. We had a good cucumber juice, where the mixed kept killing the electricity of the restaurant, was really funny and cute. The staff in general were lovely. The vegan was not too great. But the fresh tea was really good. The lentil soup was really good, as well as the potato-beans-sesam dish. The rice fettucini with mushroom sauce was great and I really loved the tofuravioli with mushroom sauce, that was really delishous! I did not like the zen pizza at all! just all vegies mashed together on the base, didn't look great and wasn't great. Also the glutenfree banana pancakes were not great. So I do recommend this place for vegan because of the clear labeling, but don't expect everything to taste great!

Lots of good vegan options - not 100% vegan - Edit
Although the name suggests otherwise, this place is not vegan. However, it is very vegan-friendly with an extensive vegan menu, much of which they say is prepared in a vegan only kitchen.
Read moreThey are part of a larger concern, which includes Brown Bread Bakery and a pizza place; they serve vegetarian pizzas with both dairy and non-dairy cheese in Vegan & Raw, as well as some items with honey - note that these are clearly labelled.
While we were in Varanasi, we ate here a couple times. The vegan pizza was good, as was the veggie burger with fries. We tried a couple pasta dishes too.
Service is friendly and the garden cafe setting is a nice, quiet haven from the busy main road.
Pros: Extensive vegan-friendly menu., Garden setting.
Cons: Not 100% vegan.

A good option for vegans in Varanasi - Edit
We visited this place a few times during our stay in Varanasi. Despite the name, the cafe is vegetarian rather than vegan, but does offer an extensive vegan menu.
Read moreThe food was generally pretty good and very reasonably priced. I like the fact that some profits are used to support social projects.
Service was friendly. We sometimes had to wait a long time for food to be served - this didn’t bother us, but this wouldn’t be a place to visit if you were in a hurry.
Pros: Long separate vegan menu, Nice surroundings, Friendly Service
Cons: Not all vegan (despite the name)

No vegan, no raw - Edit
I´ve been there yesterday and it was opend.
Read moreMaybe they have some kind of "Off season" menu, but there was nothing fresh, except juices, what is mentioned in other reviews (no salads at all). Big part of the menu is with cheeses, so it was difficult to choose. We took Veggie burger and Vegan thali. The burger was ok, Thali very strange - rice, nice dhal which three young guys in the kitchen brought from somewhere and a load of half burnt grilled vegetables (from street vendor, not "an organic farm", how is mentioned in their menu) seasoned with rosemary.
It was quite overpriced, but the money should go to the local school.
I hope they do better job in the season, and they should deffinitely change the name, it is not vegan!
Pros: Nice place
Cons: Strange food, Overpriced, Not vegan

Could be so much better - Edit
I'm glad this place helps sponsor a charity. It makes me feel like the dinner wasn't a total waste. The place has a good vibe, but could be kept cleaner. The food was okay. Not terrible but not good. We were really looking forward to eating here but were disappointed. I hope they can make some improvements, especially so the kids at their school can benefit. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, the restaurant is vegetarian, not vegan.

Unprofessional management but nice food - Edit
During lunch service the manager stopped all staff working and forced them into a meeting right in the middle of the restaurant. He shouted that customers can wait and spent over 10 minutes discussing loudly matters of issues with the staff but in a aggressive manner which was uncomfortable to listen to. No apology was given to any customers and he continued to stay around after the meeting.
Read moreVegan options are extremely limited in Vanarasi, so we had already placed our order and had a time limit with a departing train so had no option but to stay but easily the worst restaurant experience ive ever had.

It's awful - Edit
It's neither raw nor fully vegan, not sure why that is the actual name of the restaurant. The service is really slow and the food is horrible, we couldn't eat it and the table in front of us left all their food too. My friend said they had the same experience. The cafe itself is cute though but really not worth going. 1 star.

Vegetarian not vegan.. - Edit
Sent update to happy cow to advise this is no longer a fully vegan place but vegetarian due to selling dairy. Probably would have given the place 4 stars if it was still vegan as the food we had was very good. They do Indian food as well as more western foods. The spaghetti carbonara was very tasty and the tofu burger was ok - would have been better if it was a burger patty and not just a piece of tofu in between bread. They also offer plant milks such as soy and almond and can do a vegan chai latte. Outdoor seating and proceeds go towards educating children in the area. Menu is very clearly labelled what is veggie/vegan/gluten free. They also have a partner bakery nearer to the ghats.

Intereresting Vegan Restaurant - Edit
The place was a break from all the noise you can find outside. The food was good, I tried the humus and the aubergine pizza. But on the other hand, the juices were terrible, I tried 2 and didn’t like neither of them.

Cosy place, nice terrace - Edit
We ate three times in this place and recommand it!
Read moreFood is good. European, american and indian kind of dishes are available, as well as vegan cakes!! (so rare in India). They can also make hot drinks with soy milk, such as traditionnal massala tea, and a vegan lassi is available.
Prices are a little bit higher than other places but profits are going to a non-profit organisation.
Actually it is not a 100% vegan restaurant but non-vegan food is separated on the menu.

Nothing special - Edit
I tried the breakfast buffet. It was not so exciting, only ok. Not really much to choose. Only the nut butters were really nice. There was no knife for the bread, not enough spoons for the nut butters and only one glass of soy milk. Not all the dishes looked very clean.

Mixed experience - Edit
We ate here twice and had a mixed experience. The first time we had lovely tasty bruschetta and pasta and I had a tofu burger which was nice but had a strange sweet favoured white spread on it :s
Read moreThe second time was a bit painful. It took nearly 2 hours for the food to arrive and when it did it was ok but not that great.
The service both times was slow but the second time was verging on ridiculous. To give credit it was Diwali and I don’t think the regular staff/service staff were around perhaps but in this case they should have maybe just closed?
I ordered the dinner buffet but didn’t find it really worth the money as all I was given was a small pizza and small pasta then a choice of fruit, cereals (?) bread and peanut butter (which I can’t even eat due to allergy). Felt more like a breakfast thing and the menu suggested more things as I imagined it to be a mix of small dishes so you could sample the different vegan foods.
Disappointing really, it had potential to be great as the space is really nice and the menu was huge with loooooads of vegan options but I suppose we came st the wrong time as other reviews said it was a good place.
Pros: Lots of vegan options , Nice space
Cons: Poor poor service and wait times of 2 hours, Over priced buffet option, Ran out of or just didn’t have cake both times

Terrible service and average food - Edit
I was so excited to go here and unfortunately was really disappointed. It took one and a half hours to be served our meal and we ordered after 2pm. We may have ordered wrong, but the pesto pasta was completely tasteless. Thankfully they did not charge me for it, as it was inedible. I can see what they’re trying to do, but unfortunately the experience was not great.

An India Gem - Edit
What a refreshing breath of air to find this comfortably nestled into the streets of Varanasi. Even if the food wasn’t good this would deserve 5 stars for its boldness of menu, and many options. Haven’t found a Vegan restaurant since we came to India, and this makes up for all that, very delicious. I’ve eaten here 3 times now and have tried, the pizzas, the pastas, the sandwiches, and the cereals. All very notable. My cousin (jasonfloats) yesterday tried the dinner buffet which originally seemed a tad bit overpriced but after being served the full course meal he literally almost burst of being so full, its A LOT of food from the kitchen as well as a buffet of cereals, breads, & spreads. The servers are extremely sweet and accommodating always, they even brought us out fresh bread for free because they were worried they were taking too long, which wasn’t the case! Overall an awesome restaurant and supports a great local charity so always nice to help any way we can :)
