Very tasty indian street food in Worthing with so many vegan options

I was kindly invited by Urban Tadka Worthing to come along and try some of their vegan options, an offer I certainly couldn't refuse, and when I took a look at the menu, it was the street food that really took my fancy as it's not something I've seen too much of locally. So we had to try all the vegan options 😋, they have a few tables in the restaurant so we decided to eat in, they were a really welcoming and friendly team and explained more about our dishes when they arrived.

First up were Pani Puri, these were absolutely delicious served cold, they were little dough balls, filled with chickpeas, herbs and spices and you fill them with this fragrant juice and then you eat them in one, these were so so good, I need these again. We then had more street food offerings, sweetcorn ribs (these are not marked as vegan, but Raj assured me they were and it was an accident on the menu), these were smoky chargrilled sweetcorn brushed with spices, very tasty and nice portion size as with all the dishes. Okra fries, these crispy okra fries were so good and very moorish, such a great snack. And then last but certainly not least we had some masala fries, these were fries in a masala sauce, again so good 😋

Somehow we managed to find space for some curries too 😅. There are so many different curry options on offer and most of them have a vegan variant, so we picked a couple of options to try. First up was a vegan garlic chilli curry, this was made with the This Isn't chicken, and this was plentiful in nice large chunks. This has a good spice level, they rate it as Madras Hot, it had lots of great flavour, not sure we'd manage their Hot & Fiery curries 🔥. Next up the vegan biryani, again this was made with the This Isn't chicken which was nicely seasoned and tasted really good with the aromatic rice, always enjoy a biryani. This was served with vegetable curry which again was very tasty. I couldn't resist trying the bread on offer, we had a tandoori roti and a chapati, both were very nice and really fresh and so good with the curries 😋

All of the street food dishes were so good, great sized portions and priced well between £2.95 and £4.95 and would be great as a starter maybe or as a snack after a visit to the pub, or have all of them together for a meal. The vegan curries are a bit different from other locations in the area as they offer a mock meat in the curries which is nice that it is not just vegetables.

I really look forward to returning to try more!
