If you are not from Hawaii or the west coast of the US, this farmer's market is guaranteed to astonish you. Aside from the locally grown tropical fruits, many vendors have plant based options, and some vendors are completely vegan. I got a DELICIOUS sweet potato and white miso cheesecake and it was one of the culinary highlights of my visit to Hawaii. My partner got a vegan breakfast hash from an adjacent (non-vegan) booth, and it was bomb-diggity as well. This is a must-visit for vegans on Maui.
We came here after randomly finding the farmers market on Apple Maps. We got there around 9 or 10 and it was PACKED. It was super hard to find a parking spot. Hardly anyone wore masks at all and it was extremely crowded. We bought mango, sapote, avocado and lychee.
This market is a true dream come true! The thought of being in hawaii and eating from this land is what calls hundreds of thousands here each year.
The market is filled with all local vendors that most are growing on their own lands.
Its to be noted, there are a couple vendors that do not use organic ingredients or may be selling what I call "sketchy" foods so be sure to ask lots of qualifying questions to meet your standards and check for the signs they are required to place that state weather they are using organic methods or not.
Seriously, here, you can taste the flavors of the rainbow.
Maui's hasn't always been able to sustain vegan cafes, which is crazy because so many people living in Maui LOVE raw/vegan/healthy food! The best place right now to meet great vendors is at the Upcountry Farmer's Market, where you can find Adzuki Bean Tempeh, Cultured Nut Cheese, Sauerkraut, Kvass, Cultured Coconut water and creams, veggie starts, Honey Jun, the best of rare fruits and veggies, fresh pressed juices, acai bowls...the list goes on. Make sure to arrive by 7 a.m. to get the best stuff! It's great for the whole family, there are clean bathrooms, ATM's nearby at Long's drugstore, and plenty of room for kids to run around next door in the soccer fields.
Was just here in December 2012. This is an early Saturday market, and vendors do start leaving early, so it is advised to come earlier. Many vendors sell fresh locally grown fruit and vegetable along with some crafts plus home-made foods like coconut kefir, baked goods, cooked food. A good market to check out if you happen to be in the area.

Lots of vegan options - Edit
I was pleasantly surprised at how many vegan options the prepared food vendors had. A great place to go to support local farmers and crafters.

Read morePros: Best of raw food on Maui, wild and rare fruits and veggies, no craft vendors--this is a foodie's market
Cons: best stuff can be gone by 8 a.m. , parking can be fussy during high season, there's not a full list of vendors at the moment
