I dont get the hype - Edit
Curious about all the pictures and good reviews we went there and were a bit disappointed - its not a restaurant, looks more like a fastfood chain, so ist not super charming or compfy.
Read moreThe food was ok but not overwhelmingly good or special. Its what you expect from a place with this looks.
But for what it is its too pricey I reckon.
Pros: Lots of different menu options, Gluten free options, Desserts
Cons: Expensive, Look and feel of a fastfood place

Fast food quality but slow and more expensive - Edit
It pains me to say anything negative about an all vegan place but I would not return here. I'm surprised by the positive reviews. The first time in I didn't want a full meal so I got the Caprese salad and the tiramisu
Read moreThe mozz wasn't bad but the tomatoes were completely unripe and nothing had any flavor. Maybe some balsamic would have helped but the whole dish was flavorless.
The tiramisu was dry, and had no espresso taste, it tasted just like plain cake with whipped cream. I guess that's fine for a dessert but it isn't tiramisu.
The next time I tried their lasagna but I couldn't eat it. I hate food waste but I wasn't able to force my way through it. It tasted old, the top was burnt, it was also lacking flavor. There was just an overwhelming lack of care that went into making the food. The lasagna also took a while to come out and it was some of the more expensive food I had in Florence.
Pros: Large selection
Cons: Food was overcooked and flavorless, Too expensive for the quality

Best meal in Florence - Edit
I can't even begin to explain how great this restaurant was - if only there were chains like this in England. Such an extensive menu with tonnes to choose from, all inexpensive and the seating outside was lovely (you can sit inside if you prefer). The first time we popped in just for a cheesecake quite late at night, but went back 2 nights later for a full meal. We both had the mushroom truffle burger with rosemary potatoes, mushroom crudités, nuggets and vegan mayo and we tried a couple of the desserts. Try anything - you will not be disappointed.

Bien pero no increíble - Edit
Pedimos gnochi al pesto (muy rico), bruschetta de salchicha muy buena y kebab que no nos gustó mucho, la textura de la soja muy blanda.

Average - not worth it - Edit
A fully vegan menu. We tried their pizzas and we were somewhat pleased with the results. The dough was hard to bite and chew into but the toppings were delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant on the inside was not pleasant. The radio was playing too loud and it was very hot. The staff wasn’t particularly welcoming as when they asked for our opinion and we gave our honest feedback, they felt offended that we didn’t love their pizzas.

Pretty good! - Edit
We went here tonight for a quick bite to eat & it was satisfying but nothing to write home about! We ordered the Mexican and Australian wrap - the falafel in the Australian wrap was really good. We also got the cake (which unfortunately ended up being really dry) and the tiramisu which we both enjoyed. the tiramisu had more of a crumb situation instead of lady fingers, but the cream was delicious and the flavors overall were excellent! In summary, there’s some hits and misses but a great option for vegans in Florence!

Great menu, very reasonable prices - Edit
The menu has so much choice, multiple visits are necessary. Choose between burgers, Arabic and vegan equivalents of many Italian dishes. Today, I had a piadina, a brioche and coffee. All truly delicious.

Good options, great location - Edit
We were a little trepidatious about eating here due to some of the reviews on happy cow but I’m really glad we did. They had a ton of good options and it was all very flavorful. Good service, too. I knocked a star because the croissants were end-of-day croissants and were pretty smashed.

Vegan cheese on pizzas - rare in Florence - Edit
Universo vegano has good vegan pizzas, however they are comparable to Melbourne vegan pizzas so I was unfortunately not really wowed - so to speak.
Read moreIt was still nice to see some vegan cheese in Italy, because we had mainly just been getting marinara pizzas from random, non happy cow friendly pizza shops.
The four cheese pizza was particularly impressive, as they had - you guessed it: four types of vegan cheese on the pizza, which seems somewhat revolutionary for italy. We also got a pesto gnocchi which was lovely.

Cons: No wow factor

Awful! Overpriced! And tiny portions… just horrible - Edit
We waited a really long time to get horrible food. Especially the lasagna is just heated up ( why the f**** did we wait almost an hour for that?). The food is bland, has a weird consistency and is just simply bad. Probably the perfect place to convince people that vegan food can’t be good! 😖

This place serves our pre prepared and out of the package food. The prices are restaurant prices though. Juice and dessert came in plastic cups. When in Florence, better go to other vegan places.

Very good. - Edit
The food was really very good. Unfortunately it was hard to sit comfortably on the small stools. Sitting outside was an option, but that would have meant baking in the sun. If not for the sitting, this surely is a 5 star place.

Best Vegan Restaurant in Florence - Edit
100% vegan. We think it's by far the best vegan restaurant in Florence. In the historic center, but a little far away on foot. Excellent options on the menu, including typical Italian dishes. Fair and honest prices. One of the best pizzas we've ever had (“caprichosa” and “4 formaggi”), the gnocchi came in good quantities and the tiramisu was delicious. The waitress spoke good English and they were very friendly. Congratulations.
Read more100% vegano.

Sorry but that was nothing - Edit
Its Monday so slot of vegan Restaurants were closed. So we were happy that UV was open. We saw the bad ratings of the last weeks. But we wanted to give it a chance.

The Pizza was hard an tasteless, the lasagne was so dry that the pasta dough wan‘t cooked completely.
The ravioli were overcooked and tasteless.
I think no real italien restaurant would serve such food.
I am so disappointed.
Next time I will go to normal pizzeria and ask for pizza without cheese.
Better Choice as that.

Disappointing pizza - Edit
It’s nice to have fully vegan restaurants and the staff was nice enough and they spoke English.
Read moreHowever, we ordered two pizzas and they were not good; there was too much vegan cheese and it was kind of liquid and flooding the pizza, and the crust was very hard and dry, not like the typical neapolitan pillowy pizza crust. We had sausage as a pizza topping and that was pretty good, but I do not recommend the pizzas because of the cheese.
Also, we had a hazelnut filled pasty and was really good, so maybe it was only the pizza that was disappointing.
Pros: Dessert
Cons: Bad pizza

Disappointing - Edit
We had a day trip to Florence and held off trying any other eateries to try this place after seeing all the amazing 5 star reviews!
Read moreHowever, my partner and I were left so disappointed.. I ordered the lasagne and my partner ordered the artichoke pizza with the croquette and everything felt almost inedible.
The croquettes were a breaded vegan chicken filet that had been deep fried - soaked in oil and bitter.
The lasagne was ok but tasted frozen, was very salty and dry, I struggled to finish the dish.
The pizza was pretty awful. The base seemed to be a supermarket bread base which ended up being so dry and hard you had to snap it apart. The toppings were ok, however the whole thing had been drenched in oil which we had to pour off to eat. We ended up just eating the veggies on the top and leaving the rest..
I’m sure this place is good enough for those that want a quick convenient meal and are tight on time when looking for a vegan option, however, I would not recommend this place if you want to enjoy good Italian cuisine in the heart of Tuscany.
Just to add, I rarely complain about having a vegan choice or rarely write a bad review but we were left so deflated after this experience that I felt I should share.
