Lovely spot in Orleans with lovely and very enthusiastic owner. Daily 'Plat du jour' and Risotto. Lots of cakes and desserts and lovely food.

Le côté salon de thé était bien travaillé et l'atmosphère était sympa. J'ai été déçu par la taille des portions, insuffisantes à mon goût surtout au vu de la taille de portion. Un entrée, plat, double dessert et pain m'a tout juste suffit. Côté dessert les cookies étaient très décevants, le reste des desserts fait parties des points fort de cet endroit.

El ambiente del restaurante me gustó mucho. Hermosa decoración! El postre que comí estaba muy rico, el café viennois normal. Tenían mucha variedad de postres lo cual es emocionante. Todos entre los €4 apróximadamente. No comí nada más, sin embargo tenían bastantes opciones de sal. Volvería seguro a probar más cosas.

Just had lunch this Saturday with 2 friends, and we were so shocked by their welcome, there was none. They were so cold, you feel like you are disturbing them. Even if it opens at 11am don’t you dare arrive 5 minutes before 12pm for lunch ! We had to wait more than 5 minutes for the menus even if we were the only customers. The service is so cold, no smile, they push you to take your order and are annoyed if you ask questions on the dishes. Food is good, cakes are delicious : brownie and carrot cake. But please, consider changing jobs when service is not for you. I have never experienced such a terrible service. Cherry on the cake they ask you constantly, still without smiling, if everything is ok, even if you are chatting with you friends, and they don’t bother taking your dessert plate even if your mouth is still full. The « cookies » are not the real cookies we expected, and the waitress wasn’t even able to tell us the difference between them. Huge deception...

While traveling in France this July, we stopped in Orléans just to visit this restaurant. We greatly enjoyed our lunch and the friendly, attentive staff. Sitting close to the street, we also caught a glimpse of life in the heart of this city.
Read moreWhen our US credit cards didn't work, we had to go to a bank for cash, but the staff compensated for the disturbance by offering us a delicious pastry.
Highly recommended, just bring cash if you don't have a French credit card account.

I'm in love with this tea room. The place and the atmosphere are very pleasant. The meal was delicious, served in no time and very healthy. The owner is adorable and have a nice tchat with you if you feel concerned by vegan way of life😄The pastries are absolutly awesome. I even took a box of cake for my friends ! I wish I could have a place like this in my own town.

J'adore ce salon de thé. L'endroit et l'ambiance y sont très agréable. Le repas était délicieux, servi en un rien de temps et très sain. La propriétaire est adorable et discutera facilement avec vous si vous vous sentez concerné-e par le mode de vie végane😄Les pâtisseries sont absolument géniales. J'ai même pris une boîte de gâteau pour mes ami-e-s ! J'aimerais pouvoir avoir un endroit comme celui-ci dans ma propre ville.
Je recommande vivement La Piano dans la Théière!

As this is (at the moment) the only vegan café in Orléans, it was a must to visit it.
Read moreThe lunch menu changes regularly; but it contains 3 or 4 appetizers and 3 or 4 main plates as well. They also have a nice variety of desserts: cakes, tarts, muffins, cookies.
What a choice!
For food we had the vegetable pudding (appetizer), the risotto, and the curry (mains). We had a pear/chocolate tart, and then later we had a muffin and another type of pear cake. Everything was delicious.
As drinks, you can have a café or a chocolate viennois, and a good range of teas. They also serve an afternoon tea, but for that you need to reserve it in advance.
All-in-all, we had a great time. If it was located where we live, we'd visit it regularly. So, if you find yourself in Orléans, it deserves to be visited.

"Un piano dans la théiere" is a lovely and jazzy place that serves pretty decent food. The cakes are great and the coffe is good. Great variety of teas. You can also have a warm vegan meal and prices are really cheap. Simple food, homemade and tasty.

Oh, and it's one of the rare places where dogs are welcomed, our dog friend always got water and a slice of homemade bread :)

Ce petit café vegan a été mon endroit favoris lors des quelques mois que j'ai passé à Orléans. Le lieu est agréable, l'accueil toujours chaleureux, et on y mange très très bien ! J'y ai trouvé certains des meilleurs gâteaux vegans que j'ai pu tester ! Et j'en ai testé un paquet ! :)
