Serves meat, vegan options available. Cafeteria specializing in Korean food. Some of the buffet dishes seem vegan suitable - ask about use of fish and shrimp paste, etc. Has a small made-to-order menu. Sells reuseable containers that you could bring back for a discount. In 2014 changed its name from Le Chatel Bakery and Cafe. Reported closed April 2022.

thrifty gem

love popping in for happy hour. the site says 2-3 but the dude starts it around 1/45. no weight limit!!! encourages reusing the containers for discounts and free drinks.

he gave me 2 generous samples my first time. most stuff is pretty obvious if it’s not vegan but you should be able to ask and get clear answers. dude lowkey told me the mac salad was vegan before i asked him about the mayo and clarified the difference between vegetarian and vegan lol. no shade hes the bomb and everyone makes mistakes

i love the seaweed rolls, rice balls, jap chae, burdock (YUM) veggies and hot sauce.

Pros: vegan options varied , cheap, eco friendly

Cons: limited hours, weird location

Pretty Good

The folks here are so nice! It's a small family-run business. The man who is usually behind the counter always remembers me and tells me what's vegan. Talk to him. The woman doesn't seem to quite get it. A few of the dishes change daily, but you can always get bibimbap or japchae. It's surprisingly good and holds up to the steam table very well. The downside is that it's in this crappy little cafeteria area in Rainier Tower.

Pros: Korean Food

Cons: Location
