Amazing tasting menu - Edit
Was invited to a birthday dinner and very positively surprised. One of the other guests got the regular veggie menu and we only had a couple of small differences to our dishes (ie just one quarter of an egg missing).
Read moreI was happy to see different protein options as well, like tofu, tempeh, beans and nuts, as most of the time the vegan options of restaurants like these are very vegetable based. Flavours were great overall and service was super friendly. We had a great evening!

The staff here were LOVELY and offered a vegan version to the vegetarian Michelin tasting menu, however a lot of the food missed the mark a bit, sauces and flavours were omitted to veganise them which left them a little bland. I appreciated them accomodating, there were some lovely flavours and it was still fairly reasonably priced!

Mild and boring food - Edit
We went there and ordered the 4 course vegetarian menu, that can be adapted and made vegan. We got in total 8 different dishes and NONE of them had an interesting taste. Everything was mild and boring, something you don’t expect from a restaurant called Umami. Some consistency were also disappointing, some things were soggy and the rice was completely over cooked… kinda extreme for an Asian restaurant. We spent 135 euro with some glasses of wine and left with a bitter taste in our mouth, since this place has a Michelin BIB and we weee expecting way more.

Het complete vaga menu konden ze op verzoek veganizen. Geweldig vriendelijke bediening en goede service. Heerlijk gevarieerde gerechten. Als er meer vegan opties duidelijk op de kaart stonden, hadden ze 5 sterren gekregen.
